Samsung announced its Gear S2 and Gear S2 classic watches running on Tizen based wearable platform earlier this week, ahead of IFA. At the official event yesterday, Samsung confirmed that the new Gear S2 series will work with Android devices running on Android 4.4 (Kitkat) or later with 1.5GB RAM and above.
