Samsung Electronics today introduced ISOCELL GN2, a new 50-megapixel (Mp) image sensor with large 1.4-micrometer (μm)-sized pixels. Samsung at the 2017 Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai announced new ISOCELL Image Sensor Brand, named after the company’s own ISOCELL technology. This has Bright, Fast, Slim and Dual sub-brands. Samsung introduced ISOCELL technology back in 2013. It separates each pixel with a physical barrier that reduces color crosstalk among pixels, offering high color fidelity, enabling excellent image quality even with smaller pixels. Samsung has introduced ISOCELL, the company’s new advanced pixel technology for CMOS image sensors that increases light sensitivity and effectively controls the absorption of electrons that would offer higher color fidelity even in poor lighting conditions.
