Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Finally Gets The Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update

Yesterday, we posted that, Sony Ericsson has officially confirmed that, the Android 2.3 update would come this week. And now, the company has kept their promise and finally rolled out the Gingerbread update.

 

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is the company’s most popular Android smartphone. It was originally launched with the Android 1.6 (Donut) Operating system, later it was updated to Android 2.1 (Eclair). Earlier this year, Sony Ericsson announced that, the company will skip the Froyo update and it will finally roll out the much-awaited Android Gingerbread update during the Q3 of 2011. Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play now on Verizon for 100 US$

Verizon has now slashed the prices for the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play. The phone is now available at a price of 100 US$ on a 2 year contract.

Sony Ericsson posts a loss of 50 million euros in Q2 2011

Sony Ericsson had warned investors in March this year that it has been affected by the tragic turn of events in Japan. Today the company posted a 2nd quarter loss of nearly 50 million euros mainly due to lower number of handsets sold in the quarter due to supply chain issues. This is really a bad blow for Sony Ericsson which was slowly recovering after a lot of restructuring and shifting focus to Android. The handset maker still managed to ship 7.6 million phones during this period.

Sony Ericsson Duo specs and press shot leaked, launch in September?

In past few months, Sony Ericsson launched some amazing looking devices and Xperia Arc is worth mentioning. Xperia Arc is not the best Android device available but personally I think it’s one of the most beautiful looking devices. Last month, we saw first ever leaked shot of the Xperia Duo twice but it was blurry. Now another leaked shot of Xperia Duo is posted on a Chinese forum known as IT168 and it’s also a press shot, but this is currently the best and the most clear shot of it, and trust me the device looks sexier than Arc. Sony Ericsson Arc hits USA, available unlocked via Sony

Xperia Arc was announced by SE at MWC which is  a good and attractive device. Michael Hell and Jonathan reviewed it and they were satisfied with it.
