ASUS P835 Touchscreen business phone in India

ASUS announced the launch of the P835, its touchscreen PDA for the Indian market yesterday.

Powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 OS, this handset has a 5 megapixel camera and boasts of a WVGA resolution for its 3.5 inch touchscreen.

The WVGA resolution offers five times the number of pixels of most phones and delivers the best document, photo, movie and website viewing experience possible.  The handset also comes loaded with an improved version of the ASUS proprietary glide user interface.

Rumor : Nokia to Use Capacitive Screen on 5800 XpressMusic

According to a newspaper, Nokia is planning to change the resistive screen on the successful Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and use a capacitive screen instead.

Here is the press release:

Nokia plans to replace the resistive touch panel currently used in its 5800 handset with a capacitive touch panel in order to compete effectively with rival models from Apple, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, according to sources at Taiwan handset component suppliers.

Nokia’s initial orders for capacitive touch panels will be enough for the production of two million 5800 handsets, with shipments of the new version to begin in May-June, indicated the sources, who are familiar with Nokia’s roadmap. Nokia 5530 XpressMusic – Third touchscreen phone

Nokia is determined to catch up with the TouchScreen phone market in a big way. Rumours have it that a third phone is about to be announced, with price slightly lower than that of Nokia 5800.

The original claims have been made at Daily Mobile, about the 5530 XpressMusic phone. The phone is expected to launch in September.

Gravity Twitter App for S60 Review with Video

If you are frequent twitter user and want to update your status and use your twitter account on the move, then Gravity might grab your attention.

The app was released on March 30th and its available for download on the mobileways.de website which is the German company behind the app.

Most twitter users use m.twitter.com or slandr or dabr to tweet from their mobile phone.

But a native application is always great for any purpose

This app is currently available for S60 3rd Edition and S60 5th Edition phones.

Nokia N97 to be Available for Purchase in June

Nokia Annouced today at MWC that the N97 will start shipping in June and will be available for purchase

We predicted that N97 is coming in the New Year. The date has been post-poned

The highly anticipated handset will be in stores and expected to have a price of Rs. 34000 approx

This phone is the flagship touchscreen phone from Nokia and the announcment of the availability was made

by Nokia’s Kai Oistamo

I dont think Nokia will announce another hi end device such as this for quite some time.

Sony Ericsson Idou 12.1 Megapixel Camera Phone

Sony Ericsson today announced Idou which is it’s new high-end device, on the lines of Xperia but is powered by Symbian Foundation OS. Idou has a  12.1-Megapixel camera, with Xenon flash and a large 16:9 Touchscreen.

As of now we know Idou or I do U as a concept / codename of a phone. It might be the model of the phone itself.

Its a phone  running Symbian OS  .. Will nokia get new competition ?

LG Arena KM900 going to be announced at MWC 2009

LG Arena aka the KM 900 is officially out

The phone has a unique 3D touchscreen interface some what similar to the Panels interface in Xperia

“The direct, intuitive and dynamic S-Class UI will be unlike anything that has appeared on a mobile phone before,” Skott Ahn, president and CEO of LG Mobile, said in a statement. and LG is expected to show this phone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week.

The Arena phone will have a 3 inch touchscreen display (800×480 pixels) and a 5-megapixel camera will support DVD quality video recording.

Toshiba TG01 Another iPhone killer

Mobility Survey throws up interesting findings about Windows Mobile

Recently, Microsoft commissioned a Mobility Survey in APAC in conjunction with Synovate to gauge people’s perceptions, attitudes about smart phones and how they put their phones to use in their everyday lives.

The survey throws up some fascinating revelations and definitely makes for an interesting read. The How Mobile Are You survey polled nearly 2,500 respondents (513 in India) in five countries across Asia.
