Huawei Honor 6 Unboxing and First Impressions
Last week Huawei unveiled their latest attempt to crack the European market; dubbed the Honor 6, it’s something different from Huawei’s usual handsets and unlike the Ascend range, the Honor 6 (and presumably future devices in the range) do not come with Huawei branding. The Chinese manufacturer has previously suffered bad publicity in the UK and Europe – over allegations that it sends user data back to servers in China that the Chinese government can access – and the Honor 6 is designed to offer the complete Huawei package without any negative stigma attached.

Apple iPhone 6 Plus Unboxing and First Impressions
The leaks were prophetic, indeed. While most of us were dismissive of a phablet-sized iPhone, Apple proved us wrong by announcing one, the iPhone 6 Plus, along with the iPhone 6, the comparatively moderately sized flagship. This is clear admission to the fact that there is market demand for such devices and surely, a lot of people, including us, here at Fonearena, like large screens. But there are other subtle differences between the 6 and the 6 Plus like the addition of optical image stabilization to the camera and naturally, a bigger battery occupying the larger chassis. Being the first phablet from Cupertino, we were really excited to check it out, so we shot an unboxing video, check past the break for our first impressions –

Apple iPhone 6 Unboxing and First Impressions
For the first time ever in the history of iPhones, Apple had forgone its “one size fits all” policy and released two different screen sizes for its flagship device. The iPhone 6 is the moderately sized variant, while 6 Plus is the Apple phablet we’ve been waiting for. We’ve got both the phones with us right now, so naturally, the first order of business is to unbox them. First up is the smaller iPhone 6 with its 4.7″ display, a new thinner design and souped up internals, finally giving us more screen real estate, and also playing catch up with the rest of the world. Watch the unboxing video and check past the break for our first impressions of Apple’s latest flagship –

Spice Dream UNO Android One Phone Unboxing and First Impressions
It’s Android One day today and we’ve got one of the first smartphones from the program with us, the Spice Dream UNO. Spice was one of the three manufacturers chosen for the program announced at the Google’s IO conference back in June. The Indian manufacturer, along with fellow competitors Micromax and Karbonn, has launched its first Android One device today, with a lot of support from Google. The Dream UNO, which is based off a strict chassis mandated by Google has its chipset powered by MediaTek and has almost the same specifications as the other phones that launched today. Priced at Rs. 6,299, the Dream Uno fulfills the idea of Android One, an affordable high quality device with stock Android that’s set to receive updates as fast as Google delivers them, so how is the device? We captured the unboxing and the first impressions of the device in a video –

Pebble Steel Unboxing and First Impressions
It’s still very early days for smartwatches but Pebble, the Kickstarter success story, already looks like a veteran. Pebble, the first Smartwatch that ignited the whole market frenzy for wearable devices, has been out for a long time, so long that it already got a facelift through Pebble Steel, mainly for people looking at a premium version of the original. It was exactly that, a premium version of the Pebble, adorned with steel, glass and leather, while the original was fully plastic and silicone. There was also a general shift in design and a better overall finish, with minor changes to the power connector and the addition of a LED at the front. These changes also command a premium, with the price at $249, almost matching the recently launched Android Wear devices. We had finally got one a while back, the stainless steel version, so here’s the unboxing of the Pebble Steel, in case you are looking to get one –

LG G3 Unboxing and First look
LG’s G3, the company’s latest flagship device, was announced on May 27th, with a quad HD display and laser autofocus touted as its USPs. The much awaited successor to G2 predictably packs bleeding edge specifications, in a bid to compete against other premium flagship devices like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One M8. The device, with a 5.5″ display, still follows its predecessor when it comes to being sleeker than usual with a super thin bezel around an amazingly sharp display. Packed to the brim with most wanted features, with even a removable battery and a slot for micro SD cards, the G3 aims to be do-it-all this time, and has fewer compromises for a large set of people. We obviously couldn’t wait for the Indian launch, so we went ahead and got one from our friends at Clove UK, and as with every device we get, here is a video to show you what the device looks like, fresh out of the box –

Oppo Find 7 Unboxing
Oppo made its Indian debut not too long ago, and has been consistently bringing in all the devices from its international portfolio here. After the Oppo N1, the next flagship device(s) to land here in India are the Find 7a and more importantly, the Find 7. Both these devices were announced for the Indian market, with prices at Rs. 31,990 for the Find 7a and Rs. 37,990 for the Find 7. The major differences between those two? The display, and the amount of RAM, with the rest of them only minor. The Oppo Find 7 is truly a successor to the Find 5 though, as the Find 7, much like its predecessor, has one of the firsts in the world, when it comes to the display. But quad HD resolution on a 5.5″ screen with the latest Snapdragon processor also qualifies the Find 7 for the top end competition, which includes the likes of LG G3. With that said, we have it here in the retail form, and here is our unboxing treatment of the Find 7, to give you a fairly decent look at the hardware as well as the software –

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Unboxing and First Look
Microsoft announced the Surface Pro 3, the latest iteration of its own hybrid efforts under the “Surface Pro” moniker, at an event in New York last month. Panos Panay, the guy heading the Surface group, kept referencing the Macbook Air as the Surface Pro 3’s competitor and got the audience intrigued, including us, watching the live webcast from afar. But we have now got the chance to try one out in person, as the device has started shipping in the US and Canada, with units available even without pre-order. So, what are our first impressions like? Check out our unboxing and setup video where we detail everything –

ASUS Zenfone 5 Unboxing
ASUS, the Taiwanese manufacturer, has been in the Android race for quite a while now, at times, experimenting with form factors and convergence. Niche markets aside, like any other company, ASUS also caters to the mass market crowd which just wants to pick up a smartphone. Along those lines, the company revealed three devices, with various screen sizes, ranging from 4 to 6 inches in screen sizes, but with identical user experience. These devices under the “Zenfone” range were announced way back in January during CES, but are only starting to appear in the retail market. We bought one off from a Taipei market, and here is our unboxing video to show the device off, to you –

Goqii Fitness Band Unboxing
The “internet of things” revolution is only getting started, but there are so many fitness bands out there already. Fitbits, Fuelbands, Smartbands and so on have flooded the market so it’s up to the makers to differentiate themselves in unique ways, which the makers of Goqii have exactly done. Goqii is not just a Fitness band, it’s also a service, which provide expert advice and even a personal trainer, if needed. There is also the usual gamification of fitness, but this time using “Karma” you can actually donate money to charities. These additional services and features are the Goqii’s USPs, so if you are a prospective buyer, what do you get in the box? Let our unboxing video answer that for you –

HTC Desire 816 Dual SIM Unboxing and First Impressions
HTC’s Desire 816 is the company’s bold bet in the mid range phablet segment, where it has literally been non-existent so far. The 5.5 inch device with a 720p screen was launched along with the HTC One M8 in India, but it has reached the retail only now, but for an attractive price of Rs. 23,990. Competing with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 and the Sony Xperia T2 Dual, the Desire 816 strikes a good balance between specifications and price, which is what the segment exactly wants. We weren’t able to get a complete look at the 816 when it launched at the MWC, mainly because it had the same Sense experience on the software side, but we have finally got the retail version here in India, and we present you our usual unboxing video with a quick look at the phone’s hardware and a bit of the software, take a look –

Lava Iris Pro 20 Unboxing
Lava had launched their Iris Pro 30 sometime in January earlier this year and now they have launched a slightly toned down version of it in the form of Lava Iris Pro 20. The Lava Iris Pro 20 retains the distinctive iPhone like build quality, but comes with a relatively low resolution qHD display and a toned down 0.3MP front camera instead of the 3MP camera in the Iris Pro 30.
Nokia Lumia 630 Dual SIM Unboxing and First Impressions
The Nokia Lumia 630 is the first Windows Phone 8.1 device to launch in the market, including in India, where it has been launched in the Dual SIM flavour, another first. Priced at Rs. 11,500 for the MRP, the device seeks to occupy the place between the 525 and its predecessor, Lumia 620, but sports much improved specs on the inside, keeping things a bit similar on the outside. This new device is set to be the first of hopefully many dual SIM Windows Phone devices from Microsoft, which might make things interesting in the Windows Phone market. Anyway, we have got the Indian retail version of the Lumia 630 and here is the unboxing video of it, with a detailed overview of the device hardware –
