Today we unbox the Xolo Play Tab 7.0, the Tegra 3 based gaming-focused tablet that launched a while back. Xolo Play was the first phone from the Indian manufacturer to sport a decent build quality and the Tegra 3 processor. It was clearly focused at gaming and Xolo wants to take it further into the hands of tablet seekers, with the 7 inch Xolo Play Tab. ZTE Open Unboxing

Yet another Smartphone OS in an already crowded market? Is there a breathing gap for platforms with differentiated offerings? So many questions needed answering when the Firefox OS was announced. And now it is here, residing within a handful of devices. Firefox OS might be the litmus test for a new OS’ sustainability in a fiercely competitive market. And for sustainability, any OS needs hardware, and tailored ones are the demand of the day. So Firefox announced their partnerships with several manufacturers for manufacturing low cost devices to push their platform forward to the ideal first smartphone user segment. ZTE is one of them, and one of their first devices featuring the Firefox OS is the ZTE Open.

The name Open signifies Firefox’s mobile vision in a word. The platform is based on web technologies, and much like Firefox, the browser, most apps it has run on HTML5 or Javascript. Previously we had seen phones or apps based on web technologies didn’t perform that well, and that was exactly the case with FFOS too, when we had last seen the ZTE Open at the MWC event. Oppo N1 Unboxing

The Oppo N1 has landed at the FoneArena office today! As expected, we bring you the first look at the device through the unboxing of the gorgeous flagship device from Oppo. The Chinese company had announced this camera-centric flagship device as a part of its N-series smartphones, aptly naming the first one, the N1. While the camera is the most important feature of this phone, there is also the innovative OTouch rear sensor for an experience that you cannot see on any other phone out there in the market. With a 5.9 inch screen, this is the first Oppo device that firmly cements itself in the phablet territory and is unquestionably huge to prove that fact. So, how does it actually look and feel? Google Nexus 5 Unboxing

It’s been exactly 6 days since the Google Nexus 5 officially launched, but it had leaked out in full glory earlier, with complete details of specifications and even the information about its build quality. So, we surely knew what to expect when the Nexus 5 landed in our labs today. The latest “Pure Google” experience phone has launched with absolutely tons of retail stock this time, so acquiring it was certainly an easier job than it was with the Nexus 4 last year. Costing roughly around 29K for the 16 GB unit from the UK, the Nexus 5 is ready for the FoneArena treatment, so, lets start with the unboxing. Micromax Canvas Turbo Unboxing

Today, we bring you the unboxing of Micromax Canvas Turbo, the latest and greatest from Micromax in the highly popular canvas series of devices. Hugh Jackman was a huge score for the company as it plans to push its limits beyond the Indian borders. Announced in October for a price of Rs. 19,990, the phones marquee features are its full HD display, its quad core 1.5 GHz MediaTek MTK6589T processor with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of ROM. With quick successions to the flagship range, how does the Canvas Turbo differ from the Canvas 4 and the Canvas HD? Intex Aqua i7 Unboxing

The Intex Aqua i7 is here and we are unboxing it for you. Launched way back in September, with a price tag of Rs. 21,900, the phone has been prominently featured in a lot of advertisements. The device had not hit the retail market at that time but the company has finally caught up and released it, and yes, we have received our unit too. The unit sits inside quite a large retail box, which we were astonished to find it to be bigger than a standard smartphone retail box of even big phablet devices. How big? Among the newer ones that released recently is the Spice Pinnacle Stylus Mi-550 that comes with a 5.5 inch screen and more importantly, a stylus. Priced at Rs. 15,999, this is easily a direct competitor to the Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 that comes with similar specifications. Apple iPhone 5c Dock Unboxing

Every iPhone needs its own dock, that’s Apple’s mandate and the newly launched iPhone 5c is no exception. But there are a couple of reasons why there’s a new dock for the iPhone 5c, which is seemingly just a plastic shell with the same internals as the 5. Well, technically yes and I have answered the question right there. It’s a new plastic shell and with difference in build comes difference in thickness and weight. But the thickness is more of the concern here. While you might be able to use the iPhone 5’s dock for the 5S, it is impossible to do so for the 5c, and hence why we picked one up from Hong Kong for our blue iPhone 5c. Panasonic P11 Unboxing

Panasonic might have announced its retirement from the consumer smartphone market worldwide, but weirdly enough, that has not stopped the company from launching devices in India. One of them is the Panasonic P11, which seems like a specced down version of the P51 that we reviewed earlier. The P11 has almost the same specifications as the P51, with a quad core 1.2 GHz processor, 4GB of internal storage, but running on the older Android 4.1 operating system. But what’s striking is the outer shell, in a radical fluorescent green colour. But not to worry, there are replaceable covers in the box, which we show you in the unboxing video here –

Intex Aqua HD Unboxing

Intex is fairly a newcomer in the Indian Smartphone market and it started launching Android devices much after Micromax or Karbonn, but now they have caught up with the lot by releasing MediaTek based devices under the Aqua range. We saw the cheapest Android 4.2.2 phone from the same company, and it even launched its flagship 1080p device – the Aqua i7. But today we have another 720p entry from Intex in the form of the Aqua HD. It sports a 4.7 inch HD screen and a 13 megapixel camera with an interesting design and build quality. We have had the Apple iPhone 5s with us for a while now. You might have seen us mention in the 5s Dock Unboxing that we had picked up a couple of accessories for the device from the Hong Kong Apple Store and the Yellow leather case is one of them. LG G2, the company’s flagship phone that we recently reviewed, is very much a direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S4. In that sense, LG have followed the tradition of releasing competing features and accessories similar to the S4, and that includes the Quick Window case for the G2. You might have seen us going hands on with this accessory at IFA and even comparing it with the Samsung S View Cover, but we have finally got it in our hands, the retail package, so here is a quick demo of the case on our G2 –

HTC Butterfly S Unboxing

The HTC Butterfly S is currently one of the costliest phones available in India. It is even costlier than the already costly Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Launched in India on September 4th with a hefty price tag of Rs. 52,428, the Butterfly S has finally landed in our labs for some extensive testing. We were surprised to see the box was actually from Hong Kong, so we took the box in front of a camera and unboxed it right away.
