Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Unboxing

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was launched in India just a week ago, with much fanfare and a hefty price tag. Priced at a steep Rs. 49,990, the device has finally landed in the retail market in India and we have swiftly picked up one from nearby. We recently checked out the excellent benchmark scores of the Snapdragon 800 version but the version launched in India sports a Exynos 5 Octa(We’ll be posting benchmarks for this too), and that’s the one we are checking out today. A 5.7 inch 1080p screen, 3GB of RAM, one of the first USB 3.0 interfaces on a phone and a 13 Megapixel camera checks all the spec requirements for a top end flagship device. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 Unboxing

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 was launched in India a couple of months ago and we finally have it in our labs for testing. The updated version of the Galaxy Tab 2 311 has a new S3-inspired design and almost the same internals as before. The bezels have become shorter though, making it easier for one handed usage. Gionee Elife E5 Unboxing and First Impressions

The trend in today’s Indian market is cheap Android Smartphones. Many companies like Micromax and Karbonn have successfully built huge businesses over this specific concept, however there are always compromises to be made. Most devices that land in the Indian market are re branded low cost Smartphones from across the border in China. Shenzen is a hub of countless number of companies that are mainly contract manufacturers and often end up offering really low cost, and thereby low quality phones. But some of them really stand out, like Meizu, Xiaomi, Oppo and the new entrant in our list of impressive Chinese companies – Gionee. The Elife E5 has inspired us to think beyond and acknowledge the fact that excellent phone makers exist, irrespective of the market they are from.

We unboxed the Elife E5, one of the company’s recent releases in the Elife range, and found it really nice. Here is a video of us talking about the box contents and the device itself, go past the break for our complete impressions.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 was shown off as the best camera on a smartphone at the announcement in New York. Our initial impressions of the device echoed the same thoughts but what makes it an even greater camera is the accessory that released along with the device. Yes, the Nokia Lumia 1020 launched along with a unique camera grip accessory that enhances the usage of the Lumia 1020 as a camera. I was in New York city recently for an event and managed to get hold of the recently launched Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition for unboxing as I’m a huge fan of devices running stock Android and the Galaxy S4 has some great internals and a full HD Super AMOLED display. The K900 is Lenovo’s massive flagship device that recently launched in India for Rs. 32,999. Boasting some impressive specs, it has landed in our labs for testing. The huge 5.5 inch 1080p IPS screen is coupled with powerful internals such as the 2 GHz dual core Intel CloverTrail processor and the 13 megapixel Sony Stacked CMOS sensor camera, making it a very impressive package. Nokia Lumia 925 Unboxing and First Impressions

“Too fat and heavy” some shouted, and Nokia listened. The Nokia Lumia 925 fixes the two biggest complaints of then prospective Lumia 920 buyers, its thickness and weight. While the 925 does have some more features(or lack thereof) for differentiation, it was mostly like a hotfix patch for the Lumia 920. We had checked out the device earlier at the launch event in London. It looked a lot different and shied away from the colourful Lumia legacy with a more conservative look with Nokia having brought back aluminium into its fold again. But personally, not having had a personal hands on experience with the Lumia 925(unlike Varun) made me skeptical of the design, until now. The Zen Ultrafone 701 HD is yet another entrant into the already crowded “5 inch 720p screen, quad core processor” market that has been flooded with a lot of phones this year. However, with a price tag of Rs. 11,999 this seems to be the cheapest of the lot in that range.
