Nokia Lumia 800 gets firmware update , Battery life reportedly tripled

Nokia’s first Windows Phone handset , the Lumia 800 has received its 3rd major update since launch. The update reportedly fixes the fairly average battery life of the handset. Initial reports estimate upto triple the battery life compared to the previous update.

Firefox mobile will soon support ARMv6 handsets

Firefox is one of the major desktop browsers and it has been slowly trying to capture the mobile market too as most of the people are now using handheld device, but the main problem is that Firefox for mobile only supports ARMv7 handsets as of now, which means that it cannot be run on more than 50% percent of Android devices available in the market right now. But Mozilla has confirmed that they are working a update which will bring ARMv6 handset support to Firefox mobile.

HTC to introduce white Sensation with Android 4.0 in March

The Sensation was HTC’s best device last year, featuring the first asynchronous dual core processor on a smartphone. Though the device was good and had a great build quality it did not sell well against the Samsung Galaxy S 2. But this does not stop them from bringing out a white version of this new device and the best part of it is that it will come with Android 4.0 out of the box.

ASUS confirms that eee pad Transformer TF101 will get Android 4.0 update tomorrow.

So I was going through all the posts related to the surprise which nVIDIA dropped yesterday that the ASUS eee pad Transformer Prime will be  receiving Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update on the same day in the U.S, and saw a comment from ASUS Singapore’s official Facebook page saying that the Transformer TF101 will receive the latest Android 4.0 update tomorrow.

First OTA update for iOS – 5.0.1 now rolling out to iPhone , iPad and iPod Touch

Looks like Apple finally has an answer for the battery issue surrounding the iPhone 4S. Apple has released the first Over-the-Air update for all iOS devices running on iOs 5 such as the iPhone 3GS, 4 , 4S, iPad , iPad2 , iPod Touch ( 3rd gen and 4th Gen). The update is available Over-the-air meaning you won’t have to download a 700 odd MB file and use iTunes to update your device. In fact I have managed to update 2 iPhones and an iPod touch in a matter of minutes as the OTA update was just 44.6 MB for my iPhone.It would have taken to few hours or days required to download few GBs of files normally. HTC Arrive gets updated to Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango)

Google Nexus One receives Android 2.3.6 OTA [Instructions to manually update]

Google Nexus One which is also known as the grand father of Android phones and Google’s first Nexus device get’s updated to Android 2.3.6. Last update which Nexus officially received was of Android 2.3.4, now Google has decided to skip 2.3.5 and jump directly to 2.3.6. Well I have not updated my Nexus One yet as it is on CyanogenMod and I am sure they will be including Android 2.3.6 in their next nightly. The update does not have anything in particular except dome bug fixes. Follow the instructions below to manually update if you haven’t received the update yet.
