Verizon to offer Inseego MiFi 5G NR Mobile Hotspot in 2019
Inseego Corp and Verizon demonstrated Virtual Reality Telemedicine over 5G at Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit. Both the companies have conducted a live virtual reality telemedicine demonstration in partnership with Columbia University using an Inseego mobile hotspot device that is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform and Snapdragon X50 5G modem and antenna modules with integrated RF transceiver, RF front-end, and antenna elements, running on Verizon’s 5G NR mobile network. Samsung and Verizon demonstrate 5G data transmission using 400MHz of mmWave spectrum
Samsung, Qualcomm, and Verizon have announced a successful 5G New Radio (NR) data connection using 400MHz of bandwidth in the 28GHz spectrum, resulting in maximum throughput of more than 1.7 Gbps. The data connection demonstrated the delivery of multi-gigabit 5G speeds to a smartphone form-factor mobile test device. Verizon and Samsung announced that they will bring the first commercial 5G smartphone to the market in the first half of 2019. Verizon has launched ‘Verizon 5G Home’, the world’s first commercial 5G broadband internet service. Users in the USA can sign up to be a “First On 5G” Member. Verizon 5G Home will initially be available in parts of Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Sacramento. It is built on Verizon’s Ultra-Wideband 5G network. Verizon, Ericsson, and Qualcomm Technologies today announced that they have completed the first end-to-end call with a smartphone form factor test device on a commercial 3GPP 5G New Radio (NR) network in Minneapolis, MN. RED finally has announced the launch timeline of its first smartphone; Hydrogen One. The phone was first announced back in July 2017 and its unique selling point is a holographic display. Though the initial launch date was Q1 2018, after delaying it for a while the company has now finally mentioned that it is coming to AT&T and Verizon in the USA and Telcel in Mexico. RED, popular for its high-end cameras back in July last year had introduced the RED HYDROGEN ONE. Though the initial launch date was Q1 2018, after delaying it for a while, the phone is finally coming to AT&T and Verizon in the USA and Telcel in Mexico in August. Pre-orders will ship about a month before the official launch date.
