Video: It’s time for the Samsung Galaxy Tab

What comes in your mind when someone asks you about Samsung and Apple? Well, if someone asks me that, I would say that both companies are currently going through a hard time. We know that Apple recently sued Samsung over Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab, and then Samsung sued Apple too, so currently there is a cold war going on. Samsung announced Galaxy Tab 10.1 at MWC which is the thinnest tablet available in the market and it’s really a big challenge for Apple iPad2. The Samsung Galaxy S2 was launched in India only a couple of days ago. FoneArena managed to get hold of a retail unit which ships in India so that we can unbox it for you. We got hold of the 16GB version which retails for around Rs.32000 at stores.

The Nokia N8 goes for a Dive in Australia!

Never afraid to try something awesome, my good Friend Chris Stobbs took his Nokia N8 out for a dive lately. Yes, a dive! He explains in the Video Info that “This is a video I created using only the N8 and an overboard underwater case. All editing was done on the N8.” I love it, and if anyone wanna gift me a ticket to fly to Australia and join Chris in THAT awesome looking water, i would definitely appreciate this! 🙂

Video: Unboxing of the Nokia C7

I received a brand new Nokia C7 today (huge thanks to Nokia Austria), in the fantastic looking black charcoal colour. I got struck by the awesome feel again, the whole device is very nicely built and will definitely surprise you, if you think its just a cheap quality rip off. I decided to do an unboxing video for the first time in years, and also tested waters to film with my Canon EOS 500D. So go easy on me guys, i usually don’t do much videos, but definitely wanna get more into it 🙂 I’m gonna test the symbian^3-powered, Nokia C7 thoroughly in the next 3 weeks, which will result in one or more review posts! The Commuter – Short film shot just with a Nokia N8

Yesterday I was invited to the premiere of The Commuter at Aqua Nueve, in Soho London. The short film stars Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire), Pamela Anderson, Ed Westwick and Charles Dance, and is directed by the McHenry Brothers. The premiere was attended by Charles Dance, Pamela Anderson, Peta’s Dan Matthews and Jermaine Jackson of the Jackson 5.

Nokia N8 hardcore gorilla glass test!

While still waiting for my own Nokia N8 to arrive, my friend Stefanos from the greek Pestaola Blog took Things to the Extreme. What did he do? PROPERLY testing the Gorilla Glass screen on his dark grey Nokia N8. He starts off with ordinary things like having coins and keys in a pocket and finishes off with.. well, watch for yourself!

Nokia World 2010 – Video: Damian Dinning and the N8 photobook

And here’s another Video from Nokia World 2010. This Time i met with Damian Dinning (or @phonedaz on Twitter), one of the People who were heavily involved in the AWESOME camera work on the Nokia N8!

What the Guys did, was printing a big photobook, with pictures taken with the Nokia N8. All the Pictures in the Book were absolutely unedited, just as they came out of the Camera. Unfortunately the Video isnt as sharp as i hoped it to be, but you can get the Idea. Nokia has really stepped up the Game here, not only beating all other smartphone camera, but also consumer cams, like pocket point and shoots etc.  Being a hobby photographer like i am, the Nokia N8 is exactly what i want. period.

Damian was a very kind Guy, taking his Time to talk me through the whole book, as well as having a drink with us the day before Nokia World. Enjoy!
