Vodafone India creates new Guinness World Record with largest paper recharge voucher

Vodafone India has created a 62 ft 5.5 inch by  40ft 1 inch (2503.53 sq ft or 232.32 sq mtr) paper recharge voucher in Agra. The telecom operator has created a Guinness World Record with this initiative.

Vodafone offering 4G-ready SIMs in Delhi ahead of 4G roll out

Vodafone has started offering 4G-ready SIM cards in Delhi & NCR region through Vodafone stores, ahead of 4G roll out in the circle. It will be based on 1800MHz FDD-LTE band 3, which the company acquired last year. Back in October last year it promised to roll out 4G services in Delhi/NCR region by December, but it got delayed. Vodafone is said to be in talks to acquire broadband service provider YOU Broadband, according to a latest report from the Economic Times. The deal is tipped to be priced at Rs 400 crore, said the report.

Vodafone India to launch 4G services by December 2015

Vodafone India today announced that it will roll out 4G services in the country by December 2015. Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Kochi will be the first set of cities to get Vodafone 4G in the first wave of the roll-out by the end of the calendar year 2015. It has already started testing 4G services and has roped in technology infrastructure service providers for the network roll-out. Vodafone India  partnered with ICICI Bank to launch M-Pesa, mobile money transfer and payment service back in April 2013. It was introduced in Delhi and NCR in August 2013. Now Vodafone India has launched the service in Haryana region. It offers a simple and secure way to transfer money and make payments with the security of financial transactions provided by ICICI Bank. This service offers unbanked and under serviced sections of the country to gain access to financial services via the mobile phone.
