In 2017, a dedicated music player isn’t something that is on most people’s radar. With phones not only capable of playing back most formats but also being able to deliver high quality audio, there’s not much of a reason for most users to invest in an iPod or Walkman. Sony has announced two new models in its all-in-one wearable Walkman series. The WS413 and WS414 were announced at CES 2016 and are water proof and dust proof. They can also be used in saltwater.

Sony rolls out Bluetooth wireless headphones and wearable MP3 player
Sony has launched three wireless bluetooth headphones that specializes in a different features. The first Bluetooth headphone from the company is MDR-XB950BT Extra Bass Bluetooth Headset. As the name implies it puts more emphasis on the bass to deliver what Sony says is “a powerful audio experience.”

[Breaking] Sony buys out Ericsson’s 50% share in Sony Ericsson
We’re still waiting for more information regarding this but Reuters reports that Sony has bought out Ericsson’s 50% share in the Sony Ericsson joint venture. Sony Ericsson has recently completed 10 years of the JV and started off making feature phones and the iconic Walkman , Cybershot series of devices.

Back in 2005 , Sony Ericsson launched a line of Walkman branded cellphones. The W550i and W800i were to make up for the shrinking market share of Sony’s Walkman line of music players.
Extremely popular and bundled with great earphones , the Walkman series of phones became well known for their superior audio quality. Fast forward to 2011 and we finally have our first smartphone as part of the Walkman series. SE Live with Walkman handset announced
Following in the footsteps of the Sony Ericsson W8 , the company has just unveiled a new budget Android based Walkman handset. The phone is powered by a 1Ghz processor with a 320MB of RAM. The screen is 3.2″ with the same disappointing HVGA resolution as the W8. The OS running the show here is Gingerbread along with the custom SE UI layer on top.

So here is the good new for all music lovers! Sony Ericsson is setting the stage ready, to bring back their famous WalkMan series . With the release of their new poster, we are quite sure that Sony Ericsson is gearing up to launch their new WalkMan series version in 2011.
