According to the IDC report, the Indian wearables market posted a 144.3% year-over-year (YoY) growth in 2020 with shipments of 36.4 million units. Samsung patent hints at wearable with extended curved display
Samsung has filed a patent at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and was published under the title and patent number US D813,864 S “Wearable Electronic Device.” Going by the patent sketch, it appears to be a wearable with an extended display. Worldwide wearable shipments up 10.3% YoY in 2017, Apple leads with 15.3% market share: IDC
According to IDC, the worldwide wearables market continued to grow in both the Q4 and whole of 2017 with the total shipments reaching a new record. Apple moved past Fitbit and Xiaomi to become the leader in the wearable market worldwide. The total volumes of the quarter reached 37.9 million units, which is up 7.7% from the 35.2 million units shipped YoY. India’s wearable market is dominated by sub $50 segment in CY Q1 2017: IDC
Total shipments wearables in India hit 612K units, of which includes smart wearables, that can run third-party apps, and basic wearables which cannot run third-party apps, according to the latest IDC Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Tracker, CY Q1 2017. In terms of product category, basic wearables accounted for almost 90 percent of total wearable shipments in Q1 2017.

Worldwide wearables market soar 126.9% in Q4 2015, Fitbit continues reign: IDC
Buoyed by the growing popularity of fitness trackers and the Apple Watch, the worldwide wearable device market showed a notable increase in Q4 2015. As per the International Data Corporation (IDC)Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker, vendors shipped 27.4 million units in the Q4 2015, a 126.9 percent increase from the year before.
