WhatsApp for iPhone now lets you send and receive GIFs and send videos, live photos as GIFs

WhatsApp for Android beta received option to add GIFs from a 6 second video, which was later now the iOS app has also received this feature. It also lets you copy a GIF image from a website and sent it to others. You really can’t send GIFs that you have saved, just like Android. Earlier this month WhatsApp rolled out option to share PDF for iPhone, soon after the Android app got it. Now it has rolled out few more features that are yet to arrive on Android. WhatsApp for iPhone finally gets iOS 7 refresh

WhatsApp has finally updated the iPhone app with a new iOS 7 interface. The v2.11.5 update also brings a new app icon, Broadcast lists that lets you share messages with multiple contacts at once, Large thumbnails for images, New notification alerts, better UI to manage blocked contacts, option to crop an image before sending and lots more. WhatsApp moves to subscription-based model on iOS at $0.99/year


WhatsApp collected for $ 0.99 as a one time payment for the iPhone app. Now the company has changed their  business model that would offer the app free for the first year after that the user would be charged $.99  (~Rs. 55) per year after that, similar to other platforms such as Android and Windows Phone. If you had purchased the app already or downloaded the app when it went free it will remain free for the rest of your life.
