Xiaomi launched the Mi 4i back in 2015 MIUI 6 based on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). MIUI v8.5.3 was the last update for the above mentioned devices which company rolled out a few months back, and company decided to skip MIUI 9.0 update for the phone. Earlier this week the company started rolling out MIUI 9.2 Global Beta Stable update to the phone and, the main highlights of MIUI 9.2 include Interactive and Fresh UI changes, New Gallery App, Calendar Cards, App Vault, Mi Video App, New Mi Explorer.
Xiaomi smartphone codenamed Libra with 1.44GHz Hexa-Core Snapdragon 808 (MSM8992) SoC and Android 5.1.1 surfaced last month on Geekbench. There was even a rumor that Xiaomi might release a Mi 4i variant with a Snapdragon 808 SoC, now the same Mi 4i variant codenamed Mi-4c has surfaced on AnTuTu benchmark.

Xiaomi has launched limited edition Pink, Blue and Yellow variants of the Mi 4i smartphone in India at the MIUI 7 launch event, to celebrate the arrival of MIUI 7. It was launched in India back in April in White color and the Dark Grey variant was launched in June. Xiaomi made it’s first major product announcement in India on April 23rd for the Mi 4i which has been developed for over 18 months mainly for India and other nearby markets. The launch saw Hugo Barra, VP Xiaomi Global , unveil the Mi 4i in a market where the company has been operational for barely 9 months.While the company tends to call it a flagship, the Mi 4i is more like a feature rich mid-range smartphone priced extremely well. Xiaomi has launched Mi 4i, the company’s latest smartphone in the Mi series. It has a 5-inch 1080p fully laminated display from JDI or Sharp with 178-degree viewing angle, is powered by an 2nd generation Octa-Core Snadpragon 615 processor and runs on MIUI v6 on top of Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with visual interactive voice response (IVR) feature built for India. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera from Samsung or Sony with 5-element lens, f/2.0 aperture and two-tone LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 80-degree wide-angle lens.
