Few days after releasing beta update Xiaomi today released Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update for the smartphone along with the MIUI 8.1.1.0.MHOMIDI stable OTA update for the Redmi Note 3 (Pro) with Snapdragon 650 globally. As mentioned previously, changelog of the update is same as the previous update the smartphone got, with some additional bug fixes and optimizations. As per IDC India Monthly Smartphone Tracker report for June, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3 has become the highest-shipped smartphone ever in the history of India’s online market in any given quarter with record-breaking shipments of 880,000 units in Q2 2016, and it is almost twice the volume of the second highest-shipped smartphone for the same period. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 3 smartphone in India early last month, which went on sale in the first flash sale starting from March 9th. The smartphone usually sells out in few minutes after the flash sale begins and the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage variant goes on sale rarely. Now Xiaomi India has announced that both the variants will be available through open sale, without registration on April 27th. Xiaomi is all to set to launch the most expected Redmi Note 3 smartphone in India soon, which will be the company’s first smartphone to launch in the country this year. Last week Xiaomi’s Co-founder and President, Lin Bin, posted teaser image of an upcoming Redmi Note series smartphone that will be unveiled tomorrow, November 24th. It was expected to be called the Redmi Note 2 Pro, but Xiaomi today confirmed that it will be released as the Redmi Note 3, which will be the successor of Redmi Note 2 that was introduced back in August.
