Xiaomi just announced Redmi Note 5A, its latest budget smartphone as it had promised in two versions. Both the phones have a 5.5-inch HD screen and come with a 13-megapixel rear camera, but the standard version is powered by a Snapdragon 425 and has 2GB RAM, while the top-end version comes with Snapdragon 435 with 3GB or 4GB RAM, also has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash and a fingerprint sensor on the back. We still have two more days for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A to go official. Today CEO Lei Jun confirmed that the phone will come with dedicated dual SIM slots along with a microSD card slot that accepts cards up to 128GB. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A announcement set for August 21
After the phone got certified by TENAA this week, Xiaomi today officially announced that it will introduce the Redmi Note 5A on August 21st, as rumored earlier. The phone is expected to come in two versions, both with unibody design, but only the high-end version is said to come with a fingerprint sensor and the entry-level version could just be a larger version of the Redmi 4A.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A with 5.5-inch display, Android 7.1 gets certified
Xiaomi Redmi smartphones with model numbers MDT6 and MDT6S have been certified by TENAA in China. Both the phone have a 5.5-inch HD screen, come with a unibody design and pack a 3000mAh battery. The basic version is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, which could be Snapdragon 425 and doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor like the Redmi 4A. It is rumored to be called the Redmi Note 5A.
