Twitter has become one of the last major social media platforms to copy Snapchat’s 24-hour disappearing type content, calling it ‘Fleets’. They are currently testing Fleets in Brazil and it will work differently from regular tweets, that is, users will not be able to retweet, like or publicly comment on them.

Twitter for Android customisable timeline with pinned lists rolling out widely
When you begin to follow a multitude of accounts on twitter, it can start to become a little overwhelming with many topics. In June of 2019, Twitter began testing a feature called Lists on their mobile app that allowed users to split their timeline with different pinned lists. The feature has been in iOS for a quite a while, and now Twitter has announced wide-rollout for Android users too.

Twitter is testing new ways to target misinformation spread
The spread of misinformation in social media is an issue that is widely debated these days. According to a leaked demo, Twitter may roll a new policy that targets misinformation by having a community of fact-checkers and journalists marking the tweet as “Harmfully misleading” or not.

Twitter has been testing out redesigns of its feed in regards to replies to a tweet for a few months now. Today they announced that they are ready to roll out an update that will make conversations easier to follow with the new layout.

Twitter is testing Reddit-like conversation layout for replies
Twitter is experimenting with new ways to display conversations on its platform, trying out Reddit style flows to replies to a Tweet. First seen on Twttr, the prototype app for Twitter.com, it makes use of threaded replies that give a message board type of feel, connecting replies to the original tweeter.

Twitter pauses inactive account deletion after strong feedback from users
Just yesterday, Twitter had reported that they will be removing inactive accounts from its site for users who haven’t logged in more than 6 months. But after receiving a ton of feedback from the user base in regards to user accounts of those who are dead, Twitter has decided to pause the inactive account removal process.

Twitter to remove user accounts that have been inactive for more than 6 months
Twitter has reported that they will be removing inactive accounts on its site if the user does not sign in to their account by December 11th. Users who haven’t signed into their accounts for more than 6 months will receive an email from Twitter with information about this decision.

Twitter Topics makes it easier to follow conversations about any particular topic
Twitter announced in a blog post that they are introducing a new feature called Topics. This feature is designed to let users follow all the best tweets from a particular news topic that they choose. Topic suggestions will appear in your timeline and in search based on what the users tend to look for and already follow on Twitter.
