Amazon now automatically saves documents sent to Kindle to Cloud Drive

Amazon has integrated Kindle documents to its own Cloud drive thereby by giving its users 10 GB Amazon Cloud storage, in addition to 5GB of storage. Kindle owners received an email from Amazon informing them that all documents sent to Kindle are now stored on Amazon Cloud Drive.

Amazon smartphone to launch in June says Wall Street Journal

Rumors around the long awaited Amazon smartphone have been floating around for years now but The Wall Street Journal has now gone on record to say that it should be expected this June. Amazon is believed to be showing off prototypes to developers in SFO and Seattle to gain support for its rather unique hardware. While showing 3D content on a phone has been done before, Amazon will be the first to include retina tracking technology that will largely be handled using the four front facing cameras that it will include. Amazon acquires digital comic platform ComiXology

Amazon has bought digital comic book store ComiXology for an undisclosed sum. Founded in 2007, ComiXology has a collection of digital comic books from more than 75 publishers. It boasts of graphic novels from popular publishers like Marvel and DC along with many independent creators.

Amazon has finally unveiled the rumored Fire TV streaming box along with its Fire game controller. It plugs into your HDTV and lets you stream movies and TV shows at up to 1080p resolution, listen to songs, use apps, play games and more. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 pro processor, 2GB RAM and has 8GB of internal storage. It runs on Android-based OS Fire OS called Mojito, similar to the Kindle Fire tablets. Amazon now offering Kindle devices in EMI in India

Amazon Kindle devices have been on sale in India for sometime now and today, Amazon is introducing EMI offers for the same. Amazon has announced that starting today, consumers will be able to buy the Amazon series of Kindle devices including – Amazon Kindle, Amazon Kindle PaperWhite and Amazon Kindle Fire tablets from Amazon with an EMI option.

Amazon rumored to be shipping a video streaming device in April

Streaming devices are becoming a thing as Roku’s streaming stick and Google’s Chromecast have seen considerable success. It looks like Amazon could enter the streaming market with a dongle just like the aforementioned units. Amazon is rumored to be shipping this video streaming capable unit through its online stores as well as through retail outlets like BestBuy and Staples.

Amazon Game controller for Android-based console surfaces

Earlier this year rumors about Amazon’s gaming console running Android surfaced. Today, Dave Zats spotted a gaming controller with Amazon branding at Brazilian cetification website, similar to FCC. It did not have any other details, but we can clearly see a layout, similar to the gaming controllers for Android. Kindle Paperwhite (First gen) finally gets Goodreads integration, Kindle FreeTime and more


Amazon unveiled the New Kindle Paperwhite back in September last year, and announced that it would get Goodreads and FreeTime features in a software update. The New Paperwhite got the these features in an update in November, but the company did not announce these features for the first Generation Paperwhite. Amazon has rolled out a new update (version 5.4.4) to the first generation Paperwhite, that brings Goodreads integration, Kindle FreeTime feature and more features, that were available in the New Kindle Paperwhite. Amazon has just recently opened their online showroom in India and are competing in a very crowded eCommerce market. In addition to having a wide portfolio of products, they also sell their own products like the Kindles and digital content including Kindle books. The Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7″ tablet got a price cut in India last month, now Amazon has reduced the price of the Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ tablet as a part of limited period festive offer. It was announced last year and was launched in India back in June at a price of Rs. Rs. 21,999  and Rs. 25,999 for the 16GB and 32GB variants respectively . It has a 8.9-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels) display with 254 ppi, powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core OMAP4470 CPU with 299 MHz PowerVR SGX544 GPU and  runs on a forked version of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
