Google Navigation will come to iPhone, but only if Apple approves

Google which announced Google Maps Navigation for Android 2.0 yesterday, told today that Navigation could also come to the iPhone, if and only if Apple approves it.

In an article to AppleInsider yesterday, Google said “Apple is a close partner, we would like to support the iPhone with Maps Navigation. Millions of users experience Google Maps on the iPhone. We will continue to work with Apple to bring innovation, including Latitude and Navigation, to users but you will have to speak to Apple about its availability”. Apple starts shipping un-jailbreakable iPhone 3GS’s

It looks like the cat and mouse game between Apple and the iPhone Dev team has started again.

According to an article on iClarified, Apple is now shipping a new BootROM called iBoot-359.3.2 with all the new iPhone 3GS’s  that completely blocks the “24kpwn” exploit, which is being currently used by the iPhone Dev Team and others to jailbreak the iPhone/iPod Touch.

Tweetie 2 goes live on App Store. Looks sweet

Apple App Store Hits 2 Billion Downloads!

Well the title says it all and no you haven’t read it incorrectly. The Apple Application Store has indeed hit the 2 Billion Application download mark. This was announced today at a press conference in Cupertino, California.

Apart from this, some other aspects highlighted at the event were: The Application Store now hosts over 85,000 applications for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch devices. Over 125,000 Developers are involved in the Apple iPhone Developer Program. There are more than 50 million Apple iPhone and iPod Touch users worldwide.

Apple iPhone China launch on 1st October

Does anyone remember an earlier article stating that the Apple iPhone is due to release in China? It was also known that China Unicom would bring out the device along with Apple.Now the wait is finally over and China Unicom have announced the launch date for the Apple iPhone for the 1st of October. China Unicom is reported to have around 141 million subscribers of a total of 700 million Chinese cellphone users.
