HTC U11+ with 6-inch QHD+ display, Snapdragon 835, 6GB RAM launched in India for Rs. 56990
HTC today launched the U11+, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in the ‘U series’ in India. It was announced back in November last year and comes with a 6-inch Quad HD+ 18:9 Full Screen display with 82% screen-to-body ratio and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 coupled with 6GB of RAM. Like the original U11, it comes with Edge Sense technology.

HTC U11 Android 8.0 Oreo update starts rolling out in India
HTC just as it promised has started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update to U11 in India. The update has already started rolling out to users in batches and comes with version number 3.16.708.3 and is of 1.48GB in size. The phone was originally launched with Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) back in June last year. The phone got Oreo update in Taiwan back in November last year. Google completes acquisition of part of HTC’s smartphone division for $1.1 Billion
Back in September last year, Google officially confirmed that it has signed a deal with HTC to acquire team of HTC talent for US$1.1 billion in cash and said that transaction is expected to close by early 2018 after approvals. Today Google has confirmed that it has officially closed the deal.

HTC U11 EYEs with 6-inch FHD+ full-screen display, dual front cameras surface, expected on January 15
HTC U11 EYEs, a new mid-range smartphone in the U11 series codenamed Harmony is expected to be introduced in China on January 15th, according to @evleaks. It will have a 6-inch FHD+ full-screen screen, on-screen button and Edge sense technology that lets you launch apps or perform certain actions just by squeezing the phone.

HTC smartphones with Dual rear cameras to return in 2018
HTC was one of the first movers of the Dual camera technology on smartphones. The HTC EVO 3D was one of the first dual camera smartphones to launch back in the day, but since the poor implementation of 3D, the device never succeeded. However, right after the U11+ launch event, HTC President Chialin Chang speaking has confirmed that the company would re-enter the dual-camera smartphone space in 2018.
