After almost a year of introducing the P40 series smartphones with 5G support, HUAWEI has silently introduced the P40 4G version with the Kirin 990 4G SoC while retaining other specifications. It has a 6.1-inch FHD+ Flex OLED screen with 3.48mm, 4.47mm and 3mm ultra narrow borders on the top, bottom and sides, respectively, runs Android 10 with EMUI 10.1 on top with HMS, has in-display fingerprint scanner, and a 50MP Ultra Vision Camera , 16MP ultra-wide camera and 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. HUAWEI just announced Mate X2, the company’s latest foldable phone at an event in China, as it had promised. HUAWEI has chanced from its unique outward-folding screen design in the original Mate X to an inward-folding screen like the Galaxy Fold. This has an 8-inch OLED screen on the inside with 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate and a 6.45-inch external OLED screen with 240Hz touch sampling rate. HUAWEI is working on its new P series flagship for the next year. Now the CAD render of the HUAWEI P50 Pro has surfaced that shows the curved display of the phone, thanks to @OnLeaks. The phone is said to feature a 6.6-inch screen, which should be an OLED panel with an in-display fingerprint scanner, but it is not clear if the company will stick to FHD+ resolution. The Nova 8 packs a 6.57-inch FHD+ OLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate and houses a 32MP camera inside the punch-hole, and the 8 Pro pack a 6.72-inch FHD+ OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate and houses a 32MP ultra-wide camera along with a 16MP portrait camera inside the punch-hole. HUAWEI has confirmed the sale of their HONOR smartphone brand to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co., Ltd. jointly founded by Shenzen Smart City Technology Development Group Co. Ltd. and over 30 agents and dealers of the HONOR Brand, selling all of HONOR’s business assets and its decision-making capabilities. The move is a result of a long battle between HUAWEI and the US government, whose sanctions have been hurting HUAWEI’s business for over a year now.
