Huawei has finally announced the Ascend W2, the company’s latest smartphone running on Windows Phone 8 after several rumors. It is the successor of the Ascend W1 that was announced at the CES 2013 earlier this year, and packs a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) WVGA super-sensitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8230 processor. It has a 5 MP auto focus rear camera with 720p HD video recording. The phone has capacitive touch buttons with backlight similar to the color of the phone. Huawei has set a target of selling 60 million smartphones worldwide, this year. The ICT solutions giant has spent only two years in the smartphone business, yet earned itself the title of ‘fourth largest smartphone maker in the world’, beating Nokia & Blackberry, earlier this year. India, being an important market for any growing mobile manufacturer has seen few and delayed handset launches by Huawei. However, the Chinese company hopes to change that trend, soon. “We are not a well-known brand in India, yes that is true and we acknowledge we have work to do”, affirmed Scott Sykes, Head of International Media Affairs, Huawei to FoneArena, in an interview in Shenzhen, earlier this year.

After the delayed launch of Ascend Mate (phablet) in India, Huawei has now introduced its next star product -the Ascend P6. This super slim android device was first announced in UK, way back in June. P series includes Huawei’s top end devices. P6 is the last launch in this series for 2013 and could prove to be a mark-breaker for Huawei. The USP of Ascend P6 is its attractive, slim built. Huawei has officially launched the Ascend P6, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in India. It was announced back in June and went on sale in India online earlier this week. It packs a packs a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display based on in-cell LCD screen technology with responsive touch that works even when wearing gloves, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) with new Emotion UI. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor, F2.0 aperture and 4cm macro and 1080P full HD video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Huawei Ascend P6 Benchmarks

Huawei Ascend P6, the company’s latest flagship smartphone went on sale in India earlier this week. We brought you the unboxing of the device earlier today. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. The Ascend P6 has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display based on in-cell LCD screen technology and is powered by a the Huawei’s own K3v2 processor developed by HiSilicon Technologies from Huawei. It has four 4 ARM Cortex A9 cores based on ARMv7 architecture. The chip is based on 40nm technology. It has a 16-core Vivante GC4000 GPU. Huawei Ascend P6 Unboxing

Nearly four months after its global launch, Huawei has finally brought the Ascend P6 to India. The Android smartphone is priced at Rs. 25,750. What makes this phone stand out in the massive Android market, is its absolute slim design. Aesthetics compliment the extremely light body that weighs mere 120 gms. It is one of the biggest launches by Huawei in 2013 and is expected to get a successor only next year !

Huawei Ascend G700 and the Ascend G610 that appeared on official website last week, is now available from online retailer Infibeam in India. The Ascend G700 packs a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The G610 has a 5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) IPS display, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Both these  phones are powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processors, pack a 2150 mAh battery and run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Nokia Lumia 925 vs Huawei Ascend P6

Slim is definitely in with manufacturers constantly looking to make their devices slimmer with even more features. With the Ascend P6, Huawei have come very close, packing a feature list including a 4.7 inch 720p screen, Quad-core processor and 8MP camera into a body just 6.2 mm thin.

In comparison, the Lumia 925 comes in at 8.5 mm with similar specs with the addition of a PureView camera and 4G LTE. Despite very clear differences, these hero devices share some design similarities. Without doubt, apple has had a lot of success with the slate design of their iPhones – from the iPhone 4 onwards, the design hasn’t really changed.
