At the Mobile World Congress 2009, Microsoft unveiled “Windows phones” based on Windows Mobile 6.5 OS. In addition to the new user interface and a richer browsing experience, the Windows phones also feature two new services: My Phone and Windows Marketplace for Mobile.
The new Windows Mobile 6.5 home screen keeps people up-to-date on important information by providing a dashboard-like experience to items such as new e-mails, texts, missed calls and calendar appointments. It also includes an improved touch-screen interface, making it easy to take action with a finger.
Well, considering the rising popularity of the radio, it is only but expected that radio enabled handsets are gaining popularity in the country.
Keeping the target audience of students and the youth in mind, LG recently launched two new handsets GB106 and GB110 with Radio capability and a new feature: The “Intenna” FM radio do away with the need to attach a headset to turn on the music. Both handsets are capable of accessing all radio stations without connecting the wired headset to be used as an antenna since they come with an integrated FM antenna.

While the LG GB106 also features an anti theft mobile tracker, the LG GB110 comes up with additional features like a VGA camera, a micro SD card slot (expandable up to 2 GB and 1GB card included) and MP3 full song play back.

“The direct, intuitive and dynamic S-Class UI will be unlike anything that has appeared on a mobile phone before,” Skott Ahn, president and CEO of LG Mobile, said in a statement. and LG is expected to show this phone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week.
The Arena phone will have a 3 inch touchscreen display (800×480 pixels) and a 5-megapixel camera will support DVD quality video recording.
The LG Watch Phone – GD910 was glimpsed at the recently concluded CES 2009 event and is only a glimpse of what LG is working on for the next iteration of mobile phones.
Nicole Lee from CNet was lucky enough to gather info about the LG Watch Phone and was surprised at how easy it seemed to dial numbers on the tiny dial pad, even though the screen only measures 1.43 inches diagonally.
According to LG, texting will be done in a similar manner with a virtual T9 keypad.
The glass screen on top works as a capacitive touch screen, while on the right side of the watch are three buttons: the Talk, Clear, and End buttons, respectively. The Watch Phone’s speakers were surprisingly loud even at the event.
LG Electronics launched the VIEWTY in October 2007 in the overseas market ,NAM was omitted as it depends on different sales bracket and technology. After its release quite some 14 months, LG have achieved the cumulative sales of 5,000,000 (350,000 domestic and overseas 4650000) Viewty handsets which is something to reckon with. Though it is not quite some feat compared to what a normal handset from Espoo does but for LG this is indeed something great and a memorable occassion. Its a true winner of a handset .
Sliders with full QWERTY keypads seem to be the flavour of the season. After Sony Ericsson’s Xperia and Nokia’s E72 and E75, it is LG’s turn to launch such a handset.
A slider phone with a full QWERTY keypad, LG’s Prada II is a slick looking handset and is the successor to the Prada The silver keyboard along with the additional on-screen call and hang-up buttons gives fresh tactility to the original minimal concept.
The LG Renoir KC910 is a mobile phone similar to the LG Viewty, with an 8 megapixel digital camera and Schneider-Kreuznach certified optics. It features a touch screen and provides innovative features such as xenon flash, image stabilizer, face Tracking, Smile Shot and blink detection. It comes with MP3, Wifi-WLAN, video calling, and document viewer technology. The touch screen contains accelerometer technology that allows motion gestures while the GPS receiver allows for geo-tagging photos directly on mobile device.
LG has announced the World’s Slimmest 8 Megapixel Camera Slider mobile phone. The KC780 is just over half an inch thick (13.8mm), and can also shoot 30fps video.

If the phone is lost or stolen and the finder tries to insert any other SIM, the phone automatically sends out messages on two pre-stored numbers, and the receivers will know the location and the number of the SIM inserted in the phone.
