LG just launched W10 and W30 smartphones and introduced W30 Pro in the new ‘W series’ at an event in India, as it had promised. All these have HD+ screens with a notch, run Android 9.0 (Pie), feature rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and pack a 4000mAh battery. LG W-Series smartphone with waterdrop notch display, AI triple rear cameras launching on June 26 on Amazon India

Update: June 21 — LG has sent out invites for the launch of the phone on June 26th on Amazon.in. The company recently confirmed 2GHz Octa-Core 12nm SoC, which should be Helio P22. Google Play Developer console confirmed 6.2-inch HD+ (720 x 1500 pixels) display, Android Pie and 3GB of RAM and the name of the phone as W10. LG X6 with 6.26-inch 19:9 FullVision display, triple rear cameras, Hi-Fi Quad DAC, military-level durability announced

LG has introduced X6, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘X series’ in Korea. It is a version of Q60 that was introduced at the MWC earlier this year. It packs a 6.26-inch 19:9 HD+ FullVision waterdrop notch display, features triple rear cameras that includes 16MP primary camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), 5MP 120-degree Super Wide Angle camera and a 2MP camera for depth sensing in portrait shots. The phone also has a 13MP front camera.

World’s first 8K OLED TV from LG goes up for pre-order this week

In a recent development, LG Electronics announced the start of sales of the world’s first 8K OLED TV (model 88Z9) with pre-orders for the 88-inch set starting this week in South Korea. LG starts rolling out Alexa support to 2019 AI ThinQ TVs; AirPlay support coming later this year

LG Electronics announced its latest flagship TVs with ThinQ AI in January 2019 and last year, the company said that it would integrate Google Assistant on their 2018 TVs with AI ThinQ. Expanding the support for virtual assistants from various companies, LG today announced that it will begin rolling out Amazon Alexa support in 14 countries to the company’s 2019 TV models featuring artificial intelligence.

LG develops AI chip with its own Neural Engine for home appliances

LG has announced that it has developed its own AI chip (Artificial Intelligence Chip)’ that can be used universally in various home appliances such as robot cleaners, washing machines and refrigerators. It has a built-in ‘LG Neural engine’ which is an artificial intelligence processor that uses deep learning algorithm to dramatically improves the processing performance.

LG V50 ThinQ 5G will finally roll out starting from May 10

Update : May 8, 2019 — After a delay, LG has confirmed that it will roll out the LG V50 ThinQ 5G smartphone from May 10th in Korea. Pricing remains the same — 1,199,000 won (US$ 1,016 / Rs. 71,019 approx.) for the phone and the Dual-Screen accessory costs 2,19,000 won (US$ 185 / Rs. 12,970 approx.), which is free those who buys the phone till June-end. It also offers one-year free replacement service for customers who purchase the phone before May 13.

LG Q1 2019 profits down 20.8% YoY due to weak smartphone sales

LG Electronics has reported revenues of 14.92 trillion won (US$ 13.27 billion) for the first quarter that ended March 31st, 2019, which is down 1.3% compared to the same quarter last year, as expected. It posted profits of 900.6 billion won (US$ 801.25 million), down 18.7% YoY, while net profit was down 20.8% YoY to 578 billion won. LG X4 (2019) with 5.7-inch display, Hi-Fi Quad DAC, military-level durability announced

LG introduced X4 smartphone last year in Korea, now it has introduced new X4 model in Korea, which is a version of  K12+ that was introduced few weeks back, but this has  Hi-Fi Quad DAC. LG K12+ with 5.7-inch FullVision display, military-level durability announced

LG has announced K12+ (LG-LMX420), the company’s latest smartphone in the K series in Brazil, after it surfaced recently. It has similar specifications as the K40 that was introduced as the MWC earlier this year. The LG K12+ has a 5.7-inch HD+ FullVision 18:9 aspect ratio screen, is powered by MediaTek Helio P22 SoC with 3GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo), features a 16-megapixel rear camera with AI and an 8-megapixel front camera, both with LED flash.

LG G8 ThinQ pre-orders begin this week starting from Korea, price revealed

LG unveiled its flagship  G8 ThinQ smartphone at its MWC event last month. Today the company has announced that it will begin pre-orders for the phone starting from Korea from March 15th till March 21st at a price of 897,600 Korean Won (US$ 790 / Rs. 55,280 approx.), which it says is the lowest price tag ever for a flagship LG smartphone. It will go on sale starting from March 22nd and alsocomes with 1-year free screen replacement and a free case as a part of launch offer.
