Leaked DOCOMO document says we’ll see a Samsung Galaxy Nexus II, LG Nexus, and Sony Nexus

Multiple handset vendors make Android phones, but every year Google partners with one company to make a Nexus device. What’s a Nexus? It’s a piece of hardware that runs Android the way Google wants Android to run. No skins, no preinstalled applications, just pure Google software. The first Nexus device, appropriately called the Nexus One, was made by HTC. It launched in January 2010. Less than a year later, in December, Google announced the Samsung made Nexus S. The newest Nexus, known as the Galaxy Nexus, is also a Samsung made device. It was unveiled in October 2011 and then hit the market one month later. Sony Xperia ion officially launched in India for Rs. 36,999


Sony has officially launched the Xperia ion, their new smartphone in the Xperia line-up. It comes with 500MB of free 3G data per month for 3 months and 200 minutes of Mobile TV (through appXtra application) for a period of 2 months. This offer is valid till 30th Nov 2012. It went on sale from online retailer in India earlier this month.  It has 4.55-inch (1280 x 720 pixels ) HD Reality display and comes with 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. Sony to ship Exmor RS CMOS image sensors for Smartphones and Tablets starting from October

Sony announced back-illuminated stacked 8MP and 13MP CMOS image sensors for smartphones and tablets back in January. Now they have announced that they would start shipping these starting from October 2012. The IMX135 type 1/3.06 model with 13.13 effective mega pixels and the IMX134 type 1/4 model with 8.08 effective mega pixels would feature RGBW coding function and HDR (High Dynamic Range) movie function. Sony Xperia SL with 1.7 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0 official

Sony Xperia SL has made an early appearance on the Sony website. It was supposed to be announced at IFA 2012 next week. It looks similar to the Xperia S that we reviewed in April, but pack in a faster 1.7 GHz Dual Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor and comes with Android 4.0 out of the box. Sony Xperia P Android 4.0 update starts rolling out, update for Xperia U, Sola and Go soon


Sony Mobile has officially announced on their blog they have started rolling out Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for Xperia P as they promised. This update would bring new features including new lock screen with improved functionality, Resizable widgets, Recent Apps button, WALKMAN, Album and Movies apps. New press images of the Sony Xperia Tablet has surfaced on XDA developers forum. This tablet passed through the FCC last month, and several slides of the tablet surfaced last week revealing the specs of the Sony’s upcoming tablet. Sony Xperia ion now available in India for Rs. 35999

Sony Xperia ion is now available in India from online retailer Snapdeal. The LTE version was announced for AT&T at CES and released exclusively on AT&T in June. The HSPA version was announced in June. It has 4.55-inch (1280 x 720 pixels ) HD Reality display and comes with 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. The global HSPA version was supposed to run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) according to the official site, but according to the Snapdeal site it runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It has 12MP auto focus camera with Exmor R mobile camera sensor with 1080p HD video recording and LED flash and 1.3MP front-facing camera. Sony Xperia T spotted in the wild ahead of announcement

Xperia smartphones from 2011 might get Jelly Bean update says Sony


Sony has officially announced that they are investigating future Android OS upgrades for all devices including 2011 Xperia smartphones. John Cooper, Product Manager of Sony UK who attended an online Q&A session on Facebook last week said that XPERIA Arc S and the XPERIA mini Pro would not be upgraded to Jelly Bean. Sony says that the information from the spokesperson about the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) software development and rollout for 2011 Xperia smartphones was an error. Sony Xperia Tablet with 9.4-inch display, Tegra 3 quad-core processor surface

Range of slides with the details about Sony Xperia Tablet has surfaced on XDA developers forum. According to the source who claims to working for Sony, this first tablet under Xperia brand and would come with aluminium splash-proof body, 9.4-inch (1280 x 800) display similar to the Tablet S but would be powered by Tegra 3 quad-core CPU. It would run on Android 4.0 or later (we can expect Jelly Bean) and would come with a 1MP front-facing camera and a 8MP rear camera. It would be 8.8mm-thick, 42% thinner than the Tablet S. Sony Xperia Neo L successor of the Xperia Neo V, that was announced in China earlier this March is now on pre-order in India from online retailer Flipkart. It has 4-inch (480 x 854) TFT display and is powered by 1 GHz single-core processor, Adreno 205 GPU.
