Vivo launched V5, a selfie-focused smartphone in the ‘V series’ in India last year with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with Sony IMX376 1/2.78″ sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 5p lens. It already teased the high-end version called the V5 Plus during the launch, later it announced that it will launch the phone in India on January 23rd. Now the phone is available for pre-order in Malaysia and the specifications of the smartphone are detailed.

Vivo Xplay6 with 5.46-inch Quad HD curved display, Snapdragon 820, 6GB RAM, dual rear cameras announced

Vivo has announced Xplay6, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in the Xplay series in China, along with the X9 and X9 Plus smartphones. It has a 5.46-inch Quad HD curved display, is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Funtouch OS 3.0. Vivo just announced X9 and X9 Plus, the company’s flagship smartphones in the ‘X series’ in China. Both the phones have a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with 1/2.8″ Sony IMX376 sensor and f/2.0 aperture along with a 8-megapixel camera for capuring depth information when shooting selfies. It is the first smartphone to come with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with Sony IMX376 1/2.78″ sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 5p lens. It also has ‘Moonlight Glow’ that induces a natural glow on the face that lights up the picture irrespective of the lighting conditions. Vivo says that this allows users to take perfect selfies in diverse lighting conditions. Vivo introduced X7 and X7 Plus smartphones with 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture along with soft LED flash back in June. Now the company is all set to introduce the successors, X9 and X9 Plus smartphones later this month. It has dual SIM support.

Qualcomm has signed a 3G/4G China Patent License Agreement with vivo.
