After a rather pronounced series of tweets and hype building, Yu finally let loose the Yuphoria earlier this week. The handset is a comparatively lower end device compared to the Yureka launched earlier this year and in some ways complements it. The promise is quite enticing. Yu has launched YuFit, the company’s first fitness band. Yu’s CEO and Founder Rahul Sharma says that it’s not just a health or fitness band, but it’s a lifestyle companion. There is a small OLED display on the band that shows the time, the number of steps and more details. It is powered by healthifyme, Bangalore-based company that it invested in recently. YU YUPHORIA with 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 410 SoC, 4G LTE launched for Rs. 6999
Micromax’s YU just launched YUPHORIA, the company’s second YU branded smartphone as expected. It has a 5.0-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with a screen-to-body ratio of 67.1%, is powered by a Quad-Core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and runs on Cyanogen OS 12 based on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It features a 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a metal frame that will give the smartphone a premium feel, says the company. YU YUPHORIA leaked images confirm Cyanogen OS 12, HD display and 4G LTE
YU recently announced that it will launch its YU YUPHORIA smartphone on May 12th. Today, we know that the upcoming model will have HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display, run on Cyanogen OS 12 based on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and come with 4G LTE support. The image of the smartphone reveals YU branding on the top, below the earpiece. The Yu Yureka only had Yu branding on the back. YU Yureka will be up for grabs without any registration in a two-day open sale on May 6 and May 7. Lenovo launched A7000, the company’s budget 4G smartphone in India earlier this month in India. This competes with YU YUREKA that went on sale earlier this year. YU YUREKA Cyanogen OS 12 Android Lollipop update starts rolling out
YU has started rolling out Cyanogen OS 12 update based on Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop) for the YU YUREKA smartphone. It was submitted for certification earlier this week and got approved soon. OnePlus One got this update a couple of days back. Cyanogen OS 12 brings highly customized extra theming options that can be applied per application level and paid themes. It also includes CyanogenMail, powered by Boxer with Exchange support, multiple account integration, canned responses for quick replies, select a different LED color for email notifications and more. YU YUREKA Cyanogen OS 12 Android Lollipop update submitted for certification, to roll out soon
YU YUREKA’s upcoming major Cyanogen OS 12 update based on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) has been submitted to Google for certification, said Rahul Sharma, Co-founder and CEO of YU. The company already promised Android Lollipop for the YUREKA smartphone during its launch last December. YU started beta testing its Cyanogen OS 12 ROM recently though it forum. It also plans to launch YU YUPHORIA smartphone based on Cyanogen OS 12 this quarter.
YU YUPHORIA is the name of YU’s Project Caesar smartphone
YU started a contest last week to find a name for its upcoming Cyanogen-powered YU series smartphone . Today it has revealed that Project Caesar will be called YUPHORIA that has been selected through its crowd-sourcing campaign #YUNameIt. It received 1,00,000 entries, out of which 5 names (YUPHORIA, YUKNIGHT, YUNICORN, YUNITY, YOUTH) made it to the voting stage from 4th to 6th April.
