Nokia’s return to the hardware market looks set to become official later this month as the N1 tablet will begin shipping in China on January 28th. Pre-orders for the Nokia N1, which is manufactured by Foxconn and sold under the Nokia brand, will begin tomorrow and the N1 tablet will cost 1599 RMB (equivalent to around $258 or £170). ZTE Star 2 with 5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 801, system-level voice control announced
ZTE has announced Star 2, successor of the Star 1 that was launched in China earlier this year. It has the same 5-inch full HD display and runs on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) with MiFavor 3.0 UI. The quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor in the Star 1 is replaced by a Snapdragon 801 processor in the Star 2. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It is just 6.9mm thick, has aircraft-grade aluminum alloy frame, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the back and also offers Dolby experience. Vivo X5Max L with 4.75mm thickness gets certified in China
Last week Oppo introduced the Oppo R5 smartphone with 4.85mm slim body, thinner than the 5.1mm Gionee Elife S5.1. Now the Vivo X5Max L smartphone with just 4.75mm thickness has been certified on China’s TENAA certification website. Xiaomi migrating user data from China to international servers
In a bid to boost global expansion, Xiaomi is migrating international user data outside of China. Data belonging to the privately owned company’s non-Chinese users will be moved in several phases to Amazon Inc servers in the United States and data centres in Singapore.
