Alcatel refreshes the One Touch series with super thin Idol Alpha, Idol S and Idol Mini smartphones
Alcatel, the French company well known for its Enterprise level communications equipment is also responsible for some of the consumer facing devices in the One Touch range of Android Smartphones. After launching the One Touch Idol X, the flagship of the portfolio, the company has also released three other phones in all sizes and prices. The three new phones that have launched in the One Touch series are the Idol Alpha, the Idol S and the Idol Mini. This is along with the new Phablet and the Tablet from the same series.
Alcatel One Touch Hero with 6 inch 1080p display and various accessories announced
Alcatel is a name usually less related with the smartphone industry and the French company are now trying to change that fact. Alcatel has just announced their One Touch Hero phablet which competes with most other 6 inch+ devices.
Alcatel One Touch Idol X announced, 5-inch 1080p display in a 6.9mm thin titanium alloy frame
Alcatel One Touch has announced the One Touch Idol X, the company’s latest flagship smartphone. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.4mm edge-to-edge capacitive touch screen IPS display with 170 degrees wide viewing angles. The display is based on one-glass solution (OGS) that reduces the phone’s thickness and has Dragontrail Glass for protection. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13.1-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5cm macro lens, 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel 1080p front-facing camera. Asus Fonepad 7 video ad surfaces ahead of IFA announcement
Asus had introduced the original Fonepad at MWC 2013 earlier this year and the Fonepad saw a slight bump in the specifications sometime during summer. Asus just posted and removed a video ad for the yet another refresh of the Fonepad.

Sony IFA 2013 Press Conference Live Blog
FoneArena is live in Berlin , Germany for IFA which is one of the largest technology shows of the world. Sony is holding a press conference later today where the company is expected to announce the much rumored Honami / XPERIA Z1 smartphone and a couple of very interesting lenses. Much is already known about the Sony Z1 and it is said to pack in a Snapdragon 800 processor with a very interesting 20MP camera. The design is believed to be a play on that of the Xperia Z and Z Ultra.

Acer Iconia A3 with 10.1-inch HD display, quad-core processor, Android 4.2 announced
Acer announced the Iconia A1 tablet with a 7.9 inch display back in May, now it has announced the Iconia A3 tablet with a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS diplay. The Iconia A3 is also powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core cortex A7 processor (probably MediaTek) and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing camera. It comes in Wi-Fi-only and 3G + WiFi variants. It has Dolby Digital Plus that would offer 5.1 channel surround experience over headphones. No word on RAM and the battery capacity yet. Acer Liquid S2 with 6-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 processor and 4K video recording announced
Acer has announced the Liquid S2, successor of the Liquid S1 that was unveiled back in June. The Acer Liquid S2 would be the first phone to record videos at 4K Ultra HD resolution with it’s 13-megapixel rear camera that has a LED ring flash. It has a 6-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels), IPS display at 368 PPI, powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It also has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with-wide angle lens and 1080p full HD video recording. The Acer Float UI allows several Float app windows to stay open for better multitasking. LG G Pad 8.3 announced with Full HD display, Snapdragon 600 processor
LG had been teasing an upcoming tablet known as the G Pad 8.3 and today in Seoul , the company has finally taken the wraps of the LG G Pad 8.3 Android tablet and it does look like the big brother of the LG G2 smartphone which debuted recently. The GPad will be showcased at IFA 2013 in Berlin this week and true to its name it packs a 8.3 inch display with a massive 1920×1200 resolution similar to the resolution of the screen on the new Nexus 7 2013. On the inside it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Quadcore Processor running at 1.7GHz. LG has managed to pack a 4600 mAh battery into this device which is only about 8.3 mm thick and still weighs only about 338 grams. It runs on Android 4.2.2

LG Electronics, LG Chem, LG Display & LG Innotek collaborate for next gen Smartphone
We already know that a new LG smartphone powered by the Qualcomm S4 Pro Quad-core chip is coming soon. LG even teased about it’s upcoming phone in a video. Earlier today LG has confirmed through a press release that LG Electronics and it’s sister companies LG Chem( Battery ) , LG Display (Display ) and LG Innotek (Touchscreen) are collaborating for the company’s next gen Smartphone. LG says that the upcoming smartphone will feature each company’s best technology.

TomTom launches Official Application for iPad
TomTom is a very famous Dutch provider of automotive navigation systems and their devices are famous all over the world and they are also offering application for iOS devices like iPhone and iPod Touch and soon it will hit Android devices. It was launched for iPhone (only USA) back in 2009 but if you are an iPad user, then you were out of luck the whole time but not anymore. Samsung announces Galaxy Note
Samsung has announced the Galaxy Note with the 5.3 inch HD Super AMOLED display, the largest display on any phone till date. It runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and features 1.4GHz dual-core processor. It has advanced pen-input technology, called the S Pen that provides uniquely accurate level of control and finesse that could be used for sketching and artwork.
