Nokia 6.2 with 6.3-inch FHD+ HDR PureDisplay, triple rear cameras announced

HMD Global just announced Nokia 6.2, the company’s latest mid-range Android One smartphone at the IFA 2019, as expected. It has a 6.3-inch FHD+ Waterdrop PureDisplay that uses Dedicated Pixelworks visual processor to upscale video content to HDR quality in real time, with up to a billion shades of colour, higher contrast and expanded dynamic range, same as the Nokia 7.2, but this is powered by Snapdragon 636 with up to 4GB of RAM, runs Android 9.0 (Pie), which is upgradable to Android 10.

Nokia 2720 Flip dual screen 4G phone, Nokia 800 Tough rugged 4G phone and Nokia 110 (2019) announced

Along with the Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2, HMD Global also introduced Nokia 2720 Flip 4G phone with an external screen for notifications, similar to the Nokia 2720 fold was introduced back in 2009, Nokia 800 Tough rugged 4G phone with waterproof body and military grade durability, and an upgrade to Nokia 110, which was introduced back in 2012.

Sony Xperia 5 with 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED HDR CinemaWide 21:9 display, Snapdragon 855, Triple rear cameras announced

Sony Mobile just announced Xperia 5, the company’s latest smartphone at the IFA 2019, as expected. It has 6.1-inch 21:9 CinemaWide FHD+ HDR display offering bright colors with BRAVIA X1 for mobile. It is powered by Snapdragon 855 with 6GB of RAM and runs Android Pie.

ASUS ROG Phone II with 6.59-inch FHD+ AMOLED 120Hz display, Snapdragon 855 Plus, 12GB RAM, 6000mAh battery announced for global markets

At the IFA ASUS announced the global roll out of its ROG Phone II, after it was introduced in China back in July. It has a 6.59-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR 120Hz, 1ms response time AMOLED display with DCIP3 gamut, is the first phone to be powered by Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC with up to 12GB of RAM. It has 3D vapor chamber that efficiently transfer heat away from the SoC and into the body while gaming and there are vents on the back. There is an optical under-display fingerprint scanner, compared to rear-mounted fingerprint sensor in the predecessor. It has a 48-megapixel rear camera along with a 13-megapixel 125° ultra-wide camera, and a 24-megapixel camera on the front.

Lenovo Tab M8 with 8-inch HD/FHD display, metal body and Tab M7 announced

Lenovo has introduced new Tab M7 and Tab M8, two new tablets in the M series ahead of IFA 2019 next week. The Tab M7 has a 7-inch WSVGA screen and the Tab M8 comes in HD and Full HD options. These have built-in Kid’s Mode 3.0 that offers rich and customized kids’ content for children under 12 years of age. “Kids who pick up the tablet will be switched directly to their kids’ account, which features a child-friendly interface with access to games, built-in applications, videos, audio and books that offer educational content in 44 languages,” said the company.

LG K50S with 6.5-inch FullVision display, triple rear cameras and K40S with military-level durability announced

LG has announced K50s and K40s smartphones in the K series ahead of IFA 2019, after the K50 and K40 were introduced at the MWC earlier this year. These phones have a 19.5:9 aspect ratio HD+ FullVision Display, are MIL-STD-810G compliant that can withstand impact, vibration, high temperature, low temperature, thermal shock, and humidity, are powered by 2GHz Octa-Core SoC, feature rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and have a dedicated Google Assistant button. HMD Global schedules IFA 2019 event on September 5, Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 expected

HMD Global has sent out invites for its IFA 2019 event on September 5th to introduce new Nokia phones. The invite doesn’t reveal any details of what to expect, but based on earlier rumors, we can expect the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 Android One smartphones codenmaed Daredevil and Star-Lord, respectively, at the event. Huawei P20 and P20 Pro sales cross 10 million globally, introduces Morpho Aurora, Pearl White colors, P20 Pro Leather variants

Huawei at the IFA 2018 announced that it has sold 10 million units of P20 Pro and P20 smartphones globally in the first five months. It also introduced new variants in the P20 series. It also said that it has shipped over 10 million units in the Mate 10 series.

Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro with full-screen display, Kirin 980 7nm SoC to be announced on October 16

Huawei at the IFA 2018 announced its flagship Kirin 980 7nm SoC with dedicated dual neural network processing units. At the end of the event it also confirmed that the Mate 20 series – Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro powered by Kirin 980 will be announced at an event in London on October 16th, same date as last year’s Mate 10 series.
