Micromax has partnered with BSNL, State Owned Telecom Operator, to offer data and other benefits with Micromax devices including feature phone, smartphones tablets and dongles. This offer would be initially available across four Micromax devices – Micromax X070 and X088 feature phones, Micromax P410i tablet, Micromax MMX377G dongle, Micromax A37 and A37B smartphones. It is powered by a dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. After MTNL, the State Owned Telecom Operator, BSNL has started rolling out free roaming plans starting from Rajasthan. Unlike MTNL, this service is not free on BSNL. Prepaid customers have to purchase special tariff vouchers (STVs) to avail free incoming calls while roaming across the country. BSNL, State Owned Telecom Operator and MTNL would launch new free roaming plans starting from January 26th, according to a recent report from TOI. Videocon Mobile Services was the first operator in India to offer incoming calls free while on roaming on their own network by default, without any processing fee or a special tariff voucher. It also launched new packs later that offer free incoming calls while roaming on other networks. Other operators joined in with cheaper roaming plans starting with free incoming calls while roaming. These phones hava a 3.5-inch capacitive touch screen display, powered by a dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). These have a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. These phones also have Dual SIM support and the SM3513 has 3G support. BSNL has partnered with Pantel Technologies Private Limited (PTPL) once again to launch Bharat Phone PF300, a feature phone, Penta Smart phones, PS501 & PS650 and the Penta T-Pad WS707C tablet in India. The Bharat phone PF300 is based on Java and supports mobile banking, tele-medical care delivery and streaming data delivery. The PentaSmart PS650 is the first smartphone with a 6.5-inch screen in India priced under Rs. 10,000, says the company. Both the Penta smartphones are powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and run on Android 4.2. All the Penta Smart devices are pre-loaded with the suite of Anti-Malware offerings from TrustPort. BSNL has launched an unlimited 3G plan for pre-paid and post-paid customers in Chennai. This offers speed up to 3.6 Mbps till 5GB, and after that speed would be throttled to 100 Kbps. They offered 3G unlimited iPad plans few months back but stopped it suddenly. This is not a lot but you get unlimited usage even after the 3G data limit.
