During the 1st IPL(Indian Premier League) season when Vodafone took over Hutch, they launched the Happy to Help series of advertisements which were very interesting and made you smile. Now Vodafone are at it again wth their ZooZoo advertisements.

ZooZoos are characters featured in the advertisements showing the various services provided by Vodafone. The characters were created by O&M for Vodafone. Explaining the idea behind the campaign, Rajiv Rao, executive creative director, O&M says, “We created a special world in which all the product stories get told. A world which is real yet different, strange yet simple, warm and lovable. TATA to Roll its GSM Services from May

Yesterday, while browsing some mobile related forums, I got to know that people there are just over whelmed to know when exactly will TATA launch its GSM services which presently has only CDMA operations in India.

Then, after spending over an hour, I got in hand, some reports which claims TATA would launch GSM operations starting may this year. Actually, TATA is prepared to roll its services in some parts of Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and some other Telecom circles, but keeping in mind the unclear norms and policies of the DoT and TRAI, TATA was yet to roll out its GSM services. A Brief Analysis of the Indian Mobile Subscribers Growth in March 2009

Recently the Cellular Operators Association of India revealed the statistics of the growth and present subscriber base of all GSM operators operating in Indian territory. According to the report of COAI (Cellular Operator Association of India) Aircel had the highest growth in the month of March with the exact growth rate of of 5.73% over the previous month followed by Loop mobile, Vodafone, Airtel and other operators. This definitely would bring into your minds, how Virgin mobile started its services in India with a bang and a ‘hatke’ style. It is the first and the only Telecom operator in India to pay its customers even for receiving a call, though recently the Get paid on incoming charges was reduced.

Well, about its GSM launch plan, Jamie Heywood, deputy CEO, Virgin Mobile India, said, in a conference, that they (Virgin mobile) is already serving other parts of the world with both GSM and CDMA services, and even in India, they would soon launch its GSM services. SBI Provides Rs. 10,000 Crore Loan to Vodafone

Reportedly, Vodafone India has raised Rs. 10,000 Crore funds in the form of Loan from India’s top bank – State Bank of India (SBI).

According to reports, it has been added that these funds may have been raised looking the upcoming launch of 3G services in India, and the Cellcos will have to incur a heavy expenditure for upgrading their infrastructure and towards 3G license fees. Aircel It’s Time to Move On !

You must have come across the brand promo of Aircel across various TV channels. I just stumbled over the same cool TV commercial wherein the Indian Cricket Team were stuck in the midst of heavy rail fall and the team captain – M S Dhoni uses his Aircel based mobile phone to search, book and pay for room services with the ad concluding with the tagline “Aircel – Its Time to Move on”. So, after watching the video, even I feel its really high time to move on. 🙂
