Tata mobile customers start transitioning to Airtel network, to enjoy uninterrupted services with existing SIMs
Last month Bharti Airtel and Tata today announced that they have entered into an agreement to merge Consumer Mobile Businesses (CMB) of Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) and Tata Teleservices Maharashtra Limited (TTML) into Bharti Airtel. Today Airtel has announced that starting today, Tata Teleservices customers will start transitioning to the Airtel mobile network under an Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) arrangement.
Tata to merge consumer mobile business with Airtel
Bharti Airtel and Tata today announced that they have entered into an agreement to merge Consumer Mobile Businesses (CMB) of Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) and Tata Teleservices Maharashtra Limited (TTML) into Bharti Airtel. As a part of the deal, Airtel will take over Tata’s consumer operations across the country in nineteen circles (17 under TTSL and 2 under TTML) with over 40 million customers joining Airtel and assets of Tata CMB.

Tata Docomo Photon Max now offers data speed of upto 9.8 Mbps
Tata DOCOMO launched Photon Max Wi-Fi dongle last year. At the launch Tata Docomo offered speeds of up to 6.2 Mbps. Today the company has announced that it has upgraded the data speed of up to 9.8Mbps for the dongle since they have upgraded their network. All existing customers will automatically be able to access the higher speeds on their network as the network upgrade will be compatible with existing Photon Max Wi-Fi devices. This is currently available for customers in Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata. It would be subsequently extended to 8 other metro cities. NTT Docomo to exit India, sell entire stake in Tata Teleservices by June 2014
NTT DOCOMO, popular mobile solutions provider has just announced that it plans to sell the company’s entire 26.5% stake in Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL). It entered India by investing in TTSL in March 2009. It invested 252.3 billion yen or about Rs. 13,000 crore in Tata Teleservices in March 2009 and 14.4 billion yen or Rs. 800 crore in May 2011.

Tata Group reportedly planning to exit telecom business
A year after taking over as chairman of the Tata group, Cyrus Mistry, has decided to exit the telecom business completely, according to a recent report from Economic Times. Tata Group, which includes Tata Communications and Tata Tele has initiated talks with Vodafone to sell the company, but the discussions are at an early stage. Tata Docomo launches Endless Music service for its pre-paid customers
Tata Docomo has launched Endless Music, a yet a new value added service (VAS) for its pre-paid GSM customers in partnership with Hungama Mobile. This would let the customers listen to music for particular amount of period upon subscription and will work even for basic phone users, since this doesn’t require any software. This would only be available through electronic voucher distribution (EVD). It will also enable customers to set their favorite song and as caller tune at additional charges. HTC One Dual SIM + launched in India on Tata Docomo for Rs. 53590
Last month we reported that HTC would launch the Dual SIM variant of the HTC One soon. The phone went on sale online last month, Now HTC and Tata Docomo has partnered to launch the phone in India officially, calling it HTC One Dual SIM +. The company says that this is the first Android phone launched in India which offers CDMA and UMTS dual SIM capability. It has similar features as the HTC One single-SIM variant including a 4.7 inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, 1.7 GHz quad-core processor, Android Jelly Bean with Sense 5, UltraPixel camera with LED Flash and a 2.1MP HD front-facing camera.
