Three UK partners with Honor to sell the Honor 6+ smartphone

Three UK has announced that it has singed a deal with Honor to sell the Honor 6+ smartphone in the UK. Honor 6+ is the first device that Three will range and it will create bespoke tariffs for the smartphone, enabling consumers to purchase it on a 24 month contract for the first time in the UK, said the company. Three UK to buy O2 UK for £9.25 billion

Since BT confirmed they were in talks to buy EE and not O2, there’s been a lot of rumours that Three UK owner Hutchinson Whampoa Limited (HWL) would attempt to acquire O2 in a bid to strengthen its UK position. This morning the company have issued a press release confirming they are in exclusive talks to buy O2 UK from Spanish parent Telefónica, S.A. in a deal worth £9.25 billion. Following BT’s decision to bid for EE as opposed to O2, there have been many rumours that the UK’s smallest network Three, who are backed by global giant Hutchinson Whampoa, would make a bid for Telefonica-owned O2. UK networks pledge £5 billion to fix coverage issues

The UK Government have announced a major landmark deal with the four major mobile networks to improve mobile coverage in the UK. Under the terms of the deal, the four networks – Vodafone, Three, O2 and EE – have guaranteed to spend £5 billion together to offer guaranteed mobile coverage to 90% of premises across the UK by 2017. Three UK have revealed that their superfast 4G network is now available to 48% of the UK population with 3.1 million of their customers are now using the next-generation network. Three was the last network to roll out 4G ten months ago and despite the 48% coverage, they are still behind EE (78%), O2 and Vodafone (51%). Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro Benchmarks

Lenovo launched the Vibe Z2 Pro smartphone in India back in September . We reviewed the smartphone recently, here are the benchmarks of the Vibe Z2 Pro. It is powered by quad-core Snapdragon 801 28nm HPm Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.46 GHz with Adreno 330 GPU clocked at 578 MHz. It has a 6-inch ( 2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS with Vibe 2.0 UI on top. Several flagship smartphones have a Snapdragon 801 SoC, but very few smartphones feature a Quad HD display. Let’s check out the performance in a range of synthetic benchmark tests.
