Xiaomi has clarified that its smartphones are not a security threat. The Chinese smartphone maker has made the clarification after the Indian Air Force (IAF) had issued a circular to its 175,000 personnel to shun the use of Xiaomi smartphones either by them, or their family members on suspicions that the company is using their phones to spy on its users on behalf of the Chinese government.

China’s Meizu only announced their latest flagship (or so we think), the MX4 less than a week back at an event in Beijing. After their tryst with OnePlus One clones, Chinese OEMs seem to have shifted their focus to the other big thing – the Xiaomi Mi 4. The Mi 4 happens to be an in-demand phone at the moment, and is being sold in very small numbers even in Xiaomi’s home country. The device has gotten so popular that it just got itself a clone.

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Core, a mid-range Android smartphone in the Galaxy series last year and announced Galaxy Core Lite (SM-G3586V) with LTE support in China. Now the Galaxy Core Mini 4G (SM-G3568V) has appeared on official Samsung website in China. It has a similar 4.3-inch WVGA screen that was present in the Galaxy Core, but this is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) . Nokia unveiled the Lumia 630 earlier this year in single SIM and dual SIM variants. Today Nokia Lumia 636 and Lumia 638, the first smartphones with 4G TD-LTE support have been announced in China. Unlike 512MB RAM on the Lumia 630, these have 1GB of RAM. Other specifications of these smartphones are similar, including a 4.5-inch FWVGA ClearBlack IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and Windows Phone 8.1. HTC has been long rumored to be working on a plastic version of its flagship – HTC One and today, HTC have officially confirmed that by making the HTC One Plastic variant page live. The plastic variant comes in yesteryear flagship – M7’s design language, but with a glossy plastic build. However, since HTC want it to be a direct Galaxy S5 competitor, they are equipping it with the specifications of the current generation flagship – HTC One M8.
