Amazon launches new Kindle Paperwhite and Paperwhite Signature Edition with 6.8-inch screen, Waterproof body in India

Amazon today launched New Kindle Paperwhite (11th Gen) and Paperwhite Signature Edition e-readers in India. Both these feature a bigger 6.8-inch 300 PPI screen, and the company says that the display is 10% brighter compared to the predecessor. Both these have 17 white and amber LED lights, adjustable warm light and white-on-black mode, but only  the Signature Edition has an auto-adjusting light sensor which was previously present only on the Oasis models. Xiaomi introduces Mi Reader Pro with 7.8-Inch 300 PPI e-Ink screen, adjustable warm light, 32GB storage

Xiaomi has announced Mi Reader Pro, the company’s latest eReader and the successor of Mi Reader that was introduced last year. It has a large 7.8-inch (1872 x 1404 pixels) flat e-Ink screen with 330PPI pixel density. There is 24-level adjustable front-lit LED adjustable reading light that lets you  customize the color tone from cool to warm to easily transition from daytime to a comfortable nighttime reading experience. It supports voice search and automatically locates keywords, making typing faster, searching and reading easier.

Amazon just introduced a new Kindle Oasis eReader, successor of last year’s model. It has a larger 7-inch 330PPI, compared to 6-inch screen in the predecessor and is also the first waterproof (IPX8) Kindle that can stand immersion in up to 2 meters of fresh water for up to 60 minutes. It can also withstand getting splashed at the beach or dropped in the bath tub, hot tub, or pool. It has the same thickness of just 3.4mm at its thinnest point (to 8.3 mm), but it is slightly heavier at 194 grams. Amazon is back with an all new Kindle which is dubbed as Oasis. The eighth generation Kindle was launched in India earlier this month for a hefty price of Rs. 23,999 for the WiFi variant and Rs. 27,999 for the WiFi and 3G variant. Amazon just announced Kindle Oasis, the company’s flagship Kindle eReader. The 8th generation of e-ink Kindle has the same 6-inch display at 300 PPI pixel density seen in Kindle Voyage, but this has a redesigned built-in front light with 60% more LEDs that makes it the brightest Kindle display ever. The ultrathin flush 0.13” display with 200 micron backplane has new cylindrical diffractive patterns to increase the consistency and range of screen brightness for improved reading in all types of lighting.
