Asus has launched the Fonepad, the company’s first 7-inch tablet with voice calling support, as we reported earlier this week. The Fonepad has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display, runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor. It packs a 3-megapixel auto focus rear camera which supports 720p HD video recording and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has metallic finish with a streamlined design. Salora has launched Fontab, the the company’s first tablet with voice calling support. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.5 GHz cortex A9 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 2-megapixel rear camera and has a VGA front-facing camera. It has a SIM card slot for voice calling 2G data connectivity. It has 3G support through dongles and comes with a HDMI out that lets you connect the tablet to TVs. It is made of high quality plastic with UV paint. Salora launched the Protab and Protab HD tablets last month. It comes with range of pre-loaded apps including Facebook, King Soft, IBIBO games, IBIBO browser and social networking apps. Asus FonePad Unboxing
The FonePad is one of the first Intel Atom Z2420 powered Android tablets to hit the market. Asus announced the FonePad at MWC 2013 this year along with the Padfone Infinity. The “FonePad” as the name suggests is a 3G tablet and phone packed into a 7 inch tablet form factor at an affordable price point. Yes there are a couple of microphones and an earpiece on the device and you can actually put the FonePad to the ear and make a phone call although we don’t know if it will look cool. The tablet comes in 2 colours – Champagne Gold and Titanium Gray. Here is a video where we unbox the Champagne Gold version of the Asus FonePad.

Celkon CT888 Tablet with 7-inch display, 3G and Voice calling now available for Rs. 7999
Celkon CT888, the company’s new tablet is now available from online retailer Snapdeal. Celkon launched the CT910 tablet with 3G voice calling support recently, but this has a high-resolution 7-inch display and a better processor. The Celkon CT888 has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and comes with a 2-megapixel rear camera and has a VGA front-facing camera. This is cheaper than the Byond Mi-book Mi7 which has a similar display and 3G support, but the Byond tablet has a dual-core processor. AOC Breeze 7-inch and 9.7-inch tablets running Android 4.1 launched for Rs. 7990 and Rs. 12990
AOC, popular for it’s monitors and Televisions has entered into the tablet market with the launch of two new Android tablets under the Breeze category. These come in 7-inch and 9.7-inch displays, powered by a 1.5 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean). The display resolutions of these tablets are not available yet. The 9.7-inch Breeze tablet has a micro-HDMI port that would let you connect it to external devices such as Monitors, TVs, and Projectors. Micromax Funbook 3G P560 with 7-inch display, 3G and Voice Calling now available for Rs. 7999
Looks like Micromax is on a roll. The Micromax Funbook Talk P360 and the Micromax Funbook Talk P362 tablets went on sale online last week, now a new 7-inch Funbook tablet, the Funbook 3G P560 is on sale from online retailer Saholic. Most of the features are similar to the Micromax Funbook 3G P600 that went on sale back in February. It has a 7-inch capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), but this one is powered by a 1 GHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A processor, instead of 1 GHz dual-core Snapdragon MSM8225A processor in the P600. Micromax Funbook Talk P360 went on sale online earlier this week for Rs. 7,049. Now the Micromax Funbook Talk P362 is up for sale from online reatiler Saholic in India. Even though it has a 7-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and voice calling support through the SIM card slot, similar to the P360, it has a slightly better single-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Other features are similar including a 2-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, 1 GB RAM and a 3000 mAh battery. Karbonn Smart Tab TA-FONE A37 went on sale online earlier today, now Karbonn Smart Tab TA-FONE A34 is on sale from online retailer Infibeam. It has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display similar to the A37, but it comes with a 1GHz single-core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has 2G support, voice calling and SMS through dual SIM card slots similar to the Penta T-Pad WS708C and the Swipe Halo Value Tablet that were launched recently. iBall has launched Slide 6309i, a new tablet in the Slide series. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. iBall launched the Edu-Slide i1017 with a 10.1-inch HD IPS display last month. The HCL ME Y3 and the Byond Mi-book Mi7 has similar features, but both these tablets run on Android 4.0 and come with 3G support and voice calling features.

Acer Iconia A1-810 with 7.9-inch IPS display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor surface
Acer’s upcoming tablet, Iconia A1-810 has been spotted on a french retail site. It has a 7.9-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA (0.3MP) front-facing camera. Acer launched the Iconia B1 with a 7-inch display and a dual-core Mediatek processor in India earlier this year. Google Nexus 7 32GB WiFi and 3G versions launched in India for Rs. 18999 and Rs. 21999
Google Nexus 7 16GB version went on sale in India from the Google Play Store last month at a price tag of Rs. 15,999, which is already being delivered. Asus has launched the 32GB WiFi and 32GB 3G versions of the tablet in India. Google unveiled the Nexus 7 last June, and the 3G version with 32GB storage was announced at the Google I/O in October last year.
