Rumor: Motorola to reduce Xoom shipments gradually – Xoom 2 expected?

Motorola is expected to ship 700,000-800,000 units of their first Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet Xoom in the first quarter of 2011. With total shipment of 200,000 units in the month of February, which should reach 400,000-500,000 at the end of month of march, their forecast looks good according to upstream suppliers.

Samsung today surprised everyone by launching 2 Galaxy Tab Android Tablets – Galaxy Tab 8.9 which was the rumored 8.9inch tablet from Samsung. The company also launched a new version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 which was first seen at MWC only last month.Both these tablets feature the TouchWiz UI making it the first Android Honeycomb tablets with a customized UI. Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 WiFi Prices Revealed

Samsung’s Omar Khan just outed the prices of the WiFi only versions of the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 Tablet. The Tab 10.1 will hit the market in June and the 8.9 incher is expected in summer. Looks like Samsung is smartly pricing the Tab’s to take on the iPad with the 16GB 10.1 Tab costing the same as the iPad2 while the 8.9 inch Tab costs only $469. Bear in mind that this is only for the Wifi versions.
