Motorola is expected to ship 700,000-800,000 units of their first Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet Xoom in the first quarter of 2011. With total shipment of 200,000 units in the month of February, which should reach 400,000-500,000 at the end of month of march, their forecast looks good according to upstream suppliers.

Samsung today surprised everyone by launching 2 Galaxy Tab Android Tablets – Galaxy Tab 8.9 which was the rumored 8.9inch tablet from Samsung. The company also launched a new version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 which was first seen at MWC only last month.Both these tablets feature the TouchWiz UI making it the first Android Honeycomb tablets with a customized UI. Samsung just made the much rumored Galaxy Tab 8.9 official at CTIA today and here are some official photos of the Android Honeycomb tablet. Samsung’s Omar Khan just outed the prices of the WiFi only versions of the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 Tablet. The Tab 10.1 will hit the market in June and the 8.9 incher is expected in summer. Looks like Samsung is smartly pricing the Tab’s to take on the iPad with the 16GB 10.1 Tab costing the same as the iPad2 while the 8.9 inch Tab costs only $469. Bear in mind that this is only for the Wifi versions.

Today RIM announced that Blackberry Playbook would be available in United states and Canada starting at $499. Distribution of Playbook would be through 20,000 retail stores all over U.S and Canada, starting 19th of April.
Motorola XOOM will be available in the US from March 27th at Amazon.com, Best Buy, Costco, RadioShack, Sam’s Club (select locations), Staples and Walmart. This device comes with a price tag of $599.
Motorola XOOM is the first tablet powered by the new Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) operating system. This device was announced at the CES 2011 in Las Vegas. It comes with a 10.1 inch touchscreen display, 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor and so on. The Wi-Fi version of Motorola XOOM will be finally available for purchase from March 27th. HP TouchPad is expected to release in June with a price tag of just $499 for the 16GB Wi-Fi version and $599 for the 32GB variant. HP is also expected to announce a 7 inch tablet soon.
Back in February, HP announced its much-awaited tablet, the HP TouchPad. This device is powered by the HP webOS operating system and it features a 9.7 inch XGA capacitive display, 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for live video calling and so on. HP has not yet announced the release date and price of this device, but, according to the guys at PreCentral, HP TouchPad will finally release in June. As expected, the Samsung Galaxy Tab too gets a price cut, which is now selling for Rs.24,900 at Flipkart and other online stores in India. Initially the Android tablet was selling for Rs.38,000 when it was first launched, and then was reduced to 28k with the launch of the Apple iPad in India.

We had the chance to get close to the HP TouchPad Tablet running on webOS during MWC and although the device was a prototype , it was super impressive. It was really interesting to see webOS on a large screen and multitasking rocked on the TouchPad ( watch video below). the 9.7 inch display was utilized pretty well by the card interface of webOS
The picture above shows a flyer which was distributed by Samsung at a tech expo today. According to the flyer, Samsung will be releasing a Wi-Fi only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
