Airtel has launched 4G LTE services in 13 Major towns in Uttar Pradesh (UP) starting with Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Agra, Aligarh, Bulandshahar, Hapur, Mathura, Modinagar, Muzzafarnagar & Meerut. 4G will be offered using spectrum band of 1800 MHz (FD LTE and is available through mobile phones, 4G hotspots and dongles in these towns. Airtel has launched its 4G LTE services in Kharagpur in West Bengal, making it the second city in Bengal to have 4G services. Airtel 4G in Kharagpur will be offered using dual spectrum bands of 2300 MHz (TD LTE) and 1800 MHz (FD LTE). Qualcomm has signed a 3G/4G China Patent License Agreement with vivo. Under the terms of the agreement, Qualcomm has granted vivo a royalty-bearing patent license to develop, manufacture and sell 3G WCDMA and CDMA2000 and 4G LTE (including “3-mode” GSM, TD-SCDMA and LTE-TDD) complete devices for use in China.
