Imagine you get a mobile bill for Rupees 34 lacs !! You can even buy a Merc or an apartment for that kind of money.

An 22yr old Oil Field worker from Calgary,Canada -Piotr Staniaszek got an whooping 85000 dollar mobile phone bill . It was due to his mobile browsing charges. He had signed up for a $150 unlimited data service from Bell Canada

With ‘Spice Local Lingo’ one can send SMS in twelve Indian languages that include Hindi, Kannada, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, Assamese, Gujarati, Bengali and Urdu, in their script.

LG launches Shine Titanium

Although LG Shine in Titanium was launched worldwide way back in July 2007, the handset was formally introduced in India on November 4, 2007.

Asus announces two PDA handsets for India

Asus India formally launched two models in India, the Asus M530w and Asus P526. Although the Taiwanese giant is better known for its laptops, but also produces competitive mobile phones.

Asus M530w

The Asus M530w is a 3G enabled handset that weighs 135 grams that comes with an Auto Sync feature that enables the phone to transfer data directly to a server, thus creating back up files. Information will be retrievable in case of loss or theft of the handset.

Philips Xenium Range

They do not care much for features. They are not a name to reckon with in the mobile business. But they generate products consistently, and do have a following amongst “value for money” buyers.

GPRS Tarrifs may come down, thanks to widespread usage

According to Informa’s World Cellular Data Metrics (WCDM) Global mobile data revenues from services other than SMS exceeded US$10 billion in 1Q07. Data Services are gaining acceptance.

Is SMS Dead 

Nope. SMS is still alive and clicking and  orldwide SMS traffic was up year-on-year by around 50% to more than 620 billion messages in 1Q07

SMS revenues were up nearly 25 % and total data revenues almost touched  US$34.3 billion.

Data Services are still not as popular as SMS

This is proven from the fact that in Egypt only 1% of revenue came from non-sms data services whereas in Korea it was 70%
